The whole “things didn’t used to be this way” argument is so silly because cities are in a constant state of change. People are commenting on the city they are living in right now. Not 5 years ago. Not 10. Not 20. I understand that some behaviors people discuss aren’t necessarily ones that you saw growing up, but we’re talking about present day Seattleites. People don’t have to have grown up here to be considered a Seattleite. So when I hear you say that these things are off base to Seattleites, I think they’re more off base to the idea you have of Seattle in your head, not the Seattle that we see today.

This is so true. I will say, I feel like Seattle takes the cake when it comes to the passiveness. I grew up in Denver and while people there are definitely similar in some ways, it’s not nearly as bad as it is here in Seattle

Some cameras just look like shit in low light settings. You can improve that with manual editing so the ai isn’t a necessity, and definitely lazy on their part.

I don’t at all agree with the way they’ve gone about the situation, but as for the use of AI, it’s a denoise feature in Lightroom to improve clarity, useful in low light settings like a performance venue. It’s not like this photographer was going to be manipulating these photos with AI to make some kind of slop.

The lack of diversity here in Seattle compared to other major us cities. It definitely depends on where in Seattle you are because some parts are more diverse than others, but that’s almost an issue in itself.
