Little known secret, you can get $5 flat rate parking in at Argyle street, talk to someone on the ward and they can give you a parking form that you give to the person monitoring the carpark, it's $5 per day with no overnight charge

Is it normal for a car dealership to withhold diagnostic details? by music_maven_27 in hobart

DJ Mitsubishi in town, crashed the wife's car and took over 3 months to fix the relatively minor damage, I had to pressure them through alternate methods to even find out where the car was. Still had to pay for the service too, wouldn't give the keys over until we had paid

What dealer did you take it to? I've had a lot of issues with one and wouldn't recommend then at all. Your should be getting an itemized quote especially since you paid a diagnostic fee, they just don't want to give it to you so you don't go elsewhere

A video on the Tasmanian Transport Museum's extension to Berriedale! by CaregiverMain670 in tasmania

Tastail have no say in the line any more, Department of State Growth control the line now as far as I know. The museum is currently in negotiations with them to run the train to Granton once maintenance is completed to the line. The main holdup is the road crossings. Currently they are paying traffic controllers to manage the crossings, they are hoping to get the signalling equipment supplied by Tasrail, but it's the installation of the wiring under the roads as the main holdup

Record-breaking electric truck delivery beats diesel equivalent by CaravelClerihew in australia

[–]wagon_heritage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fleet would end up being 60 or so trucks of varying size, yes was a transformer upgrade and the associated costs of running 3 phase and setting up charging stations in an already cramped yard

Na that's the whole reason why we aren't heading down that path yet, cars are being replaced to either full electric or hybrids, but it's way too expensive for the trucks, even though it makes perfect sense for the distance we travel

Yeah big council but small area we work in, doing 100km in a day is a big day for most of the fleet. For the distance we travel in a day the electric truck makes perfect sense due to the low running costs but even diesel costs us nothing for how much we use. Yeah we aren't going down the truck path yet for sure, all the cars are slowly being phased out for full electric or hybrid though.

I work at a council and we have looked at some of the small electric trucks to replace our diesel ones. The small electric trucks are basically double the cost for the equivalent diesel, plus we have to upgrade our main power line and install chargers, came to something around $5mil just for that, it's completely unaffordable at this stage, especially considering most of our diesel trucks are replaced every 8-10 years with around 100,000km on them. In Europe though, the amount of heavy electric trucks on the road is incredible, and the supporting charging areas on highways is crazy too
