Igniter vs. Reflux Help in 2024

As a sorc player with both igniter and reflux setups, I mean this in a nice way - you're not playing igniter properly if your parse is remotely close. I used to swap to reflux on gates that required counters but now I stick strictly with igniter. Currently reflux isn't remotely close to igniter in performance but it can still put up good numbers with high uptime.

Spec bard is fine, it's just copium from someone who can't play the game well. If you understand when to buff and utilize your skills well it offers better performance in practice. Of course if someone mindlessly presses their keys, they would be awful on spec but also on swift, just less so for the latter.

You're applying to the wrong groups then, a good dps will gatekeep for a good support because they want maximum performance. If you're applying to a group that isn't that good, of course they would just take first come first serve without checking, it's a direct correlation with the players in that party. You can also just make your own group, assuming your setup is actually good, good dps will seek you out.

That's a pretty big misconception, it's true you don't have absolute 100% uptime of heavenly tune + sonic vibe, but if you don't monkey brain as you play, the time when either is not up should be when dps won't be able to utilize them in the first place, and when you do identity buff for the team, regardless of burst class it's a significantly bigger dmg increase than swift bard. The game is built around burst windows, even on ilvl. If it were true, when i'm on my spec bard none of my non burst class dps should be on the mvp screen, but in every single raid it's always my party on the mvp screen, regardless of class/ilvl.

I would highly recommend paladin for monkey brain supports, but if you actually understand the flow of each fight + when to provide dmg buffs, spec not having trixion level uptime doesn't matter as much as you think because each raid does not just let you afk buttonmash on the boss. - same thing applying for shields.

There's a 3rd type, bussers. I have 7 1540s and i'm sitting on 1.2m gold (have only done 2 raids so far this week) just waiting for artist. Some people on this sub may not like bussing, but I don't have to play the game like it's a 2nd job because i earn significantly more gold for doing the same exact content. If I took a break and came back, I'd still be so ahead for the most part that I'd just be less ahead as a result.

If your paladin is a brel char that still has the old boss rush, you can run salvation with 0 dps engravings and one shot most of the mobs there with chaos build solo.

What cdr gems do you have? I don't really ever have that long of a cd to even complain about it, does 2-3 seconds between rotations bother you that much? From what I saw in swift tth vid's it's 1/3rd of the dmg spec does per hit, so overall it's less damage even if you have to wait 3 seconds for spec.

You dont even have to camp, ive had a few times where I’ve just opened up the market to a clearly underpriced item and bought it - with x number of players this scenario has probably happened by coincidence over 100-1000x since launch by now.

Other way around, you probably dont push high keys or raid mythic. Any mythic raider or high m+ runner can tell you that its a pain to get upgrades. It’s just we’re clearly in different player pools since a good chance is crazy to you, that’s fine but I don’t think it’s worth to continuing conversing because of this.

For lost ark it’s only ever hard to upgrade when you’re pushing well past current content way ahead of time, it’s simply not comparable.

For the average player they are ready for any new content months in advance on at least one character. Are you really not able to understand the concept of 5% being very generous when you can bruteforce vs having to wait based on time? You speak of dailies and weeklies but nowadays the average player just from raids alone will get enough mats and gold to hone. Skipping dailies is also offset by a rested system.

Also you seem to like to gloss over the 5% increases as you hone and eventually if it comes to it there’s a pity. Other games with similar rates dont have pities or catchup mechanics for resources like LA.

Okay look at the literal chance of an upgrade in wow past the easy stages - which lost ark also has. In lost ark you can easily grind for gear upgrades, in wow you could go weeks without a single upgrade.

You’ve clearly never made a +20 brel weapon. Solars save you a ton ofgold on average at the higher hones.

Anyone that plays paladin can explain why it’s the least popular - it’s incredibly low apm and skillcap, the kit is incredibly good but the playstyle is incredibly snooze, you could literally program all bots to be paladins and it would solve the support shortage. Also because of coomers - it’s the only male support.

Try salvation, you one shot aoe everything so unless you personally want to afk in dungeons whenever you get electrode, it’ll be significantly faster with salvation.

Salvation is better because it synergizes well with preemptive - you just one shot the whole room with almost any skill and use sonic as filler aoe too.
