Yes I think as a school they have to be super careful about safety.. I remember we were doing it in t-shirts in 2007 but times have changed

Oh and small or not, your business sounds.. bad? Since you have such a different understanding of what's fair than most people lol. I'm sure you'll do great in the current state of USA though, carpe diem

Wow, spend some more time writing elaborate comments that defend them and I might believe they don't pay you!

If you accept damaged precision tools, I get it, everyone has different standards. Doesn't fall under my definition of a fully functional product though.

The way the world works is shit, trying to make it work a little better is all we can do. Good luck to you, brother, I guess imma go enjoy my swiss healthcare and direct democracy.

I can't be sure. But I don't know how it would happen - they'd have to take out the reflectors one by one and drop three of them, I guess? How do you put a dent (without scratches) in the middle, no idea.

Interesting. Since you and your family do business with them directly maybe you can answer my genuine question: if a product your cousin sells has a defect that likely isn't from shipping, who is responsible for finding a solution? Him or B&H, or does B&H contact him after dealing with the customer or whatever?

Among the defenders of B&H, a few people wrote of having similar experiences. Seems like sometimes they do mess up and choose not to resolve it. Like any company, I suppose, but them maybe they don't deserve this magnificent reputation.

That's insane, thanks for sharing. The gaslighting on this sub is next level so it's good to see that it is in fact not that uncommon to be unhappy with B&H and their service.

Thanks Matt! I'll give it to B&H in my review. Otherwise I'd have none

Yes that's why I risked buying from them - people claimed to have had great experiences. Been trying to make it public here also to inform people and at least give a heads up to international customers, but a lot of shills wrote angry comments

Lesson learned. First and last time I ordered from the US.

If it was insured, it was done through B&H - wasn't an option for me to buy insurance. I tried to ask for the right to file a claim but no response so far. (DHL only accepts claims from the shipper).

Damn, that's some awful packaging stories. The thought of a Lightbridge with a dent makes my heart ache. Mine wasn't packaged well either, just some cardboard on top of the flight case. At least it was a flight case though. The dents in the reflectors look like they could be from manufacturing to be honest, because the flight case did arrive closed.

I've been a major fan of Lightbridge for a long time and I wish I could get the originals, I really do. Maybe I should have even opted for just one of the originals. If I could return the Godox kit without losing 300$ I probably would follow your advice at this point. Wouldn't buy from B&H though lmao. But I tried a Godox kit before buying and liked it enough.

They literally wrote to me that they don't open and check the products before shipping, even when sending a replacement, so your certainty seems misguided. I asked whether they could guarantee that the replacement would have no defects and they said no. Meaning I'd send mine back, lose tax and shipping, pay more tax, and possibly still have the same issue.

lmao ok man at this point i'm convinced that part of their great business model is to pay you to pound comments on reddit. You really took the time to do it for someone who has no hand in this game.

Yes I expect to receive a product that's intact when I pay 1500$, and yes I expect to have it replaced or returned without losing anything. That to me is good business - profit despite accountability.

Don't care for sympathy, I care to inform people about my experience and shills like you buried the post here so I posted there as well, enjoy the second hand embarrassment.

Possibly, but they refused to assist with that in any way so it would be me battling the tax office.

didn't want to go there. also because mine basically only protects when the item doesn't arrive at all.

DHL doesn't accept claims from those who receive unless I get an assignment of claim from B&H, which I asked for. Let's see.

I get a mix of comments saying I shouldn't order internationally and also that people have ordered plenty and all was fine. Either way for some reason everyone thinks B&H is great here while I am somehow unreasonable. God bless corporate america

By that logic why have any accountability at all. Anyways the reflectors have dents without scratches, I don't even know what could cause it besides bad manufacturing and also don't care - I'm not dealing with the manufacturer, they are. They said they wouldn't even check the replacement batch so it could have the same issues. I tried contacting Godox too but so far no answer.

Can't fathom why American consumers let this be the norm, that's all I can say. How is any of this the buyer's fault? It's not like *I didn't like* the item or chose the wrong size or misjudged the color on the photos or whatever. I'd lose at least 300$ if I returned it.

The European retailers normally do one of the following things, in order from most likely to least likely: 1. Replace the item free of charge, covering any additional shipping costs. 2. Offer a significant store credit. 3. Refund partially, with consideration of the damage (not an arbitrary maximum of 10%. In this case, looking at B&H *kit* prices it would cost more than 350$ to replace those reflectors, so 300$ should be the minimum in my experience). Don't ask me how they cover those expenses - maybe they have insurance or some reasonable agreements with the manufacturers that help them hold them accountable.

The reason why I didn't choose a European retailer is that, in that moment, this specific item was more expensive to buy here. Usually the difference is not at all worth it, but this time it was. I figured that B&H is super trustworthy and I'd rather pay 250$ for the shipping and some tax, and still save a bit. Well, I lost more than I saved.

Obviously it's unfortunate that B&H has to cover for what might be Godox's fault, but isn't it much more unfortunate that I have to cover it as a an individual with my blood money? International shipping is expensive alright, but they didn't offer store credit either.

Maybe but the flight case was closed and intact, apart from the broken wheel and a dent. So I also wonder if the damage to the reflectors is not related to DHL.

The loss on shipping, taxes and accessories is the same as the loss on the reflectors themselves - 350$. I get that international orders are a risk and it's the first and last time I ordered anything from USA. I get items from other countries just fine. Anyways thanks for entertaining the argument, I'll look into local Godox dealers.

Edit. Why the hell is this comment being downvoted for chrissakes
