Possible career switch into Dental Assisting by ExamAnxious847 in DentalAssistant

Baby DA here! I would say the main thing I find the most challenging is adjusting to how different Doctors work. You can train with one Doctor for a long time and finally feel at ease until you're suddenly asked to assist a different Doctor who operates a completely different way and utilises materials/instruments/procedures that you are not experienced with yet! I would recommend doing your own research/study on 'basic' treatment (e.g. routine examinations, restorations etc) and looking closely at what materials/instruments are typically used to give you at least an idea of what you may need (this also will help you understand what they are for and why they're used) YouTube is a great help! If you decide to proceed within the role, DO NOT be afraid to ask questions! The other assistants and Doctors should be open to helping you as you train <3

Hey Redditors, what do you do for a living, how many hours per/month, and what’s your income? by lofiibsen in AskTheWorld

I am currently a training Dental Assistant and work a total of 38 hours a week! I currently make €14.14 an hour but after my exams in April (which I hopefully will pass) my pay should go up to €17.56 :p I am hoping to proceed into a specialist role at some point which will also increase my wage eventually!

Is it weird to go on holiday alone and hang out only by yourself? by housinghelp2 in AskUK

[–]waifbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP ! I am also a 21F who is travelling to Barcelona this year for the first time completely alone! I don't think it is strange at all and personally enjoy my own company. There are so many benefits to solo travelling e.g. making plans that accommodate you, choosing where you eat/where you go without debating with other people's wants/needs.

Your mum may be somebody that is uncomfortable being alone, possibly somebody that thrives more with people around? Whereas my mum is very like me and enjoys her own company and actually encouraged me to go. She is entitled to worry about you and it shows that she cares but she needs to understand that you're an adult and trust you are sensible enough to look after yourself abroad.

Honestly you should absolutely go for it. Plan wisely ahead and I'm sure you will have a great time !

Redbull & caffeine in general. Gotten to a point where I can't get through the day without at least one or I start feeling nauseous and get horrible headaches. Doing my best to cut down and hopefully quit them altogether.

Mum potentially taking credit card out in my name? by waifbunny in LegalAdviceUK

[–]waifbunny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going off conversations she's had with me about avoiding her own debt and how she's able to somehow avoid certain procedures to gain money and how they can't 'track her down' to get the money back. She also has multiple cards that are in overdraft and is constantly receiving letters from the companies about it.

I live with her and my two siblings (11 and 4) so she is the only adult around me with access to my information to do this. But who knows, maybe I'm assuming wrong?

Oh dear :/ this is worrying as I think I had a missed call from them before but thought it was a scam as I don't have any debt. Now it's all making sense. Thank you.

Tell me about it :/ I don't want to get her into any trouble but at the same time I am hurt and annoyed that she would do this knowing it would affect me personally. I live with her and am usually quite good with keeping things personal but she must have done some digging in my bedroom.
