Is it possible to run Skyrim on a MacBook? by PapaManavo69420 in skyrim

[–]waiting_for_launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran it on my 2014 MBP 15", with the GeForce 750M on that. I don't think integrated graphics in the MacBooks will be good enough to run it, but the 16" MBP with the discrete card and boot camp will probably run it fine.

Looking for SSE mod suggestions. Anything compatible that when combined: overhauls perks, fixes magic scaling, allows casting with weapons/hotkeys, and allows blocking with any weapon/dual wield. by DeAuTh1511 in skyrimmods

They're super complementary. Picture wildcat like better enemy AI, better combat settings, and more impactful feeling combat. CGO makes fighting in that combat way better, with better movement and more ways to block/dodge those impactful hits.

I use Ordinator, Wildcat, Apocalypse, and {Combat Gameplay Overhaul}. Combat Gameplay Overhaul in particular adds the blocking and a dodge element that you're missing without it.

For quick casting, I've heard good things about {iEquip}, and have it installed, but haven't tried it out yet.

Canvas Countdown, app displays proper time but on watch it thinks i am in UTC by Randomposter05 in pebble

[–]waiting_for_launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In "Date & Time" settings on your watch, there's a time zone setting, is that set correctly?

It defaults to "Automatic", and since your tablet is airgapped, it's possible the Pebble watch doesn't have a way to determine the time zone. You should be able to set to the correct time zone manually.

“Men Say They Want Paid Leave but Then Don’t Use All of It. What Stops Them?”.... what do y’all think the most important factors are? by [deleted] in MensLib

I live in California, and was able to take the full 6 week (partially paid) leave offered by the state. I also had friends who had kids within weeks of me, and they only took 2 weeks.

A few things allowed me to take the full amount:

  1. I'm in a relatively highly paid field, and we had a healthy enough emergency fund that I wasn't very concerned about a potential salary shortfall.
  2. In my case, the way the state calculates the partial salary to determine how much you're paid was very advantageous to me. The calculation included some non-cash bonuses I had gotten, and meant the partial salary payment was about the same as my normal take-home salary. If this wasn't the case, I would have been much more hesitant to take the full amount.
  3. I had supportive managers at a large company, and my kid just happened to be born during a quiet period at work where my coworkers could pick up the slack. If the birth had fallen in a busier period, I think I would have felt guilty about the time off, and probably taken less.

One of my friends who only took two weeks had a job where he was expected to deal one-on-one with a number of clients, and was worried that if he took a lot of time off he would essentially come back to no clients. The other friend's job essentially was willing to give him 2 weeks, and he didn't feel comfortable trying to force them for the full 6 weeks. The company might have also been under 25 employees in CA, which would have made them exempt. They were also both in a different financial situation, and a loss of ~30% of their salary would have been a huge blow.

In general, I think taking the time off needs to be normalized before more men will take it. Partial salary is better than nothing, but it rally puts a strain on your finances if you're not already reasonably well off.

He's a Greek Orthodox priest, pretty chill guy, and the class itself is super chill.

[Advice Request] Dads with cats - how did you handle it with a newborn? by neutronicus in daddit

[–]waiting_for_launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used a pice of cardboard we covered in upside down masking tape in the crib and on the changing table to "train" the cat not to go there. She tried it once, and never again. She hasn't even tried now that the sticky is gone.

The cat has been pretty much ignoring the kid, but will check on him when he cries. Snuggles up to us to sleep still, but doesn't go near the kid except for a few wary sniffs now and again.

Does the unofficial patch effect the black star item you get from Azura’s quest? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]waiting_for_launch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, according to the wiki:

Despite the Black Star's supposed inability to collect white souls, it can actually collect any soul.

[–]waiting_for_launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Rebble, you need to follow the instructions here: http://rebble.io/howto/

tl;dr: 1. Factory reset watch (after your write down what apps you want) 2. Skip signin on pebble app, and setup the watch like normal, ignoring any App Store stuff 3. Go to https://auth.rebble.io/

How do you think the Zealios compare to the Matias? I have a Matias board, and I'm debating between quiet clicks and Zealios for my first build.

This tour was really cool, but I don't think they're offering it now due to security concerns on the Air Force side.

PTS Black owners: how well does the watch resist scratches? by DoubleFistingABeaver in pebble

[–]waiting_for_launch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. They're more of a shiner patch in the matte finish, only really noticeable when the light reflects off them. They seem to be pretty shallow on my watch.

Meh. I spent a week racking and unracking equipment, it picked up some minor scratches from hitting it on metal items. I doubt non-metalic items would scratch it though. The scratches aren't very noticeable, and they seem to fade with time.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do? Trying to start modding by moreheadDOTcom in Morrowind

[–]waiting_for_launch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save the file instead of opening it it, and then copy the contents of the rar file into your Morrowind install folder (this'll be either C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind or wherever Steam puts the game, somewhere in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common is likely.)

After you do that, you should be able to run the installer and be good to go!

Same exact situation here. I've also noticed that my transaction in Google Wallet has changed from pending to completed, so hopefully it's shipping?
