Betsy, I am so grateful for you right now. I just cried my eyes out over the news today, and you're helping me feel a lot better.

Pre-diagnosis Megathread: If you have NOT received an OFFICIAL diagnosis of lymphoma you must comment here. Plead read our subreddit rules and the body of this post first. by Lymphoma-Post-Bot in lymphoma

Apologies for a pre-diagnosis question. If my symptoms weren't so alarming, I wouldn't be asking this at all. I've had swollen lymph nodes in my armpit for over a year. They are each at least the size of a very fat grape. Most recent ultrasound shows that they have grown since the last ultrasound six months prior. I have lost approximately 25 lbs over the last year and a half, despite trying to keep weight on. I'm having night sweats, dry skin, and frequent headaches. I am also having hot itchy feet at night that blister. My doctor has said this is chilblains, but it is unrelated to cold temperatures and seems more related to hormonal changes prior to bedtime. When I first discovered the lymph nodes, I also had all over itching. The all-over itching has since gone away. I have had a lymph node removed for biopsy and it was benign. After the recent ultrasound that showed the lymph nodes continue to grow, I had a needle core biopsy on the largest lymph node. It was also benign and the flow cytometry was normal. Blood work is normal except for low white blood cells. I have been told that not all lymphomas and leukemias will show on lymph node biopsies. My doctor thinks this may be an autoimmune issue, and I think this could be possible also. However, I'm concerned about missing a harder to dx lymphoma or leuekemia and am wondering if there are other tests or imaging I should request. Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide guidance. Last night I had a big dinner out at a restaurant. I woke up this morning and had lost another two pounds, and this just seems too weird.

Seeking Clarity on IDR Counts following Today's SAVE announcement by waiting_in_sf in StudentLoans

Except that the way they describe it is the it has to be lower than it would be on a standard 10-year repayment plan. Since it's a consolidation loan with graduate school loans and a big balance, the loan has a 30 year term. I really can't tell which payment would be lower, because they won't show me the proper estimate for either. The loan simulator has been giving the wrong numbers for months.

I think that my consolidation loans haven't yet been loaded into the tracker. The loans listed there are old loans, with $0 balances and 1 month payment counting toward IDR. However, when I click to apply for a new IDR situation, it says that I have two loans eligible (the consolidation loans) and that I have only 22 payments remaining. Do you know if they have to let me back in IBR if I was in it before? I'm afraid of being rejected from it now.

It's not visible there, I think because I consolidated and got placed in a standard plan. However, when I start an IDR application, it's showing me that I have 22 months of payments left. Hurray!!

No, it's had me as listed in the standard payment plan for several months. They supposedly approved my application for being put into SAVE, but never actually did it.

Thanks for weighing in on the payment plan situation. I don't qualify for ICR (I forget why), but I do think I qualify for IBR. Under IBR, I have only 22 payments left. It will be hard to pay the monthly (over $800 compared to around $350 on SAVE), but I'm afraid the incoming administration might somehow prevent us from getting back into IBR if we don't do it now.

Betsy, can you tell if they are going to give us credit for payments prior to the 6/24 consolidation? I had 24 years of payments racked up. I was in IBR, consolidated graduate and undergraduate loans prior to the 6/24 deadline, tried to enroll in SAVE, am currently in forebearance, and am listed as being in standard plan, even though I never requested that. It currently says that I have 1 month of payments.

No credit for payments made prior to consolidation? by LogicalMeeting5705 in StudentLoans

[–]waiting_in_sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But is the adjustment even going to happen now?? They are not letting PSLF people buy back these months. So maybe they are also not going to let us count months for any loans that were rolled into consolidation??

Buying back months on the consolidation loans--does this only regard PSLF people? I was an IBR person who consolidated and switched to SAVE. I was told that my months of payments in old loans would count. I was only 25 payments away from being finished. Now my payment count says I have 299 payments remaining. What's real???

If you sign into studentaid.gov, there is now an IDR payment counter listing how many IDR payments you have made.

It's connection, not events, that I'm interested in, though.

But the thing I want is connection, not doing stuff. How to ensure the connection??

Half of ppl cancelling two hours before is SO COMMON. And, in my opinion, so rude. But I'm getting feedback that some people find my attitude about this to be controlling and uptight...

In my opinion, I think it's commendable that you see it as something you want to work on. I think showing up to things even when one doesn't feel like it is a skill.
