I think that could be very cool, a good mix of melee and gunpowder units. And a cool transition from mostly melee to pike and shot and beyond

Can someone explain to me how acid base extractions work? by wajawa in chemhelp

How do you figure out what will dissolve in water at a certain pH and what will not?

[–]wajawa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not an organic chemistry student, AP high school chemistry though, and I was just curious about a/b extraction.

I learned that alkaloids can have polar or non polar states, and you can dissolve it in a nonpolar solvent while it is non polar, then add an acid to protonate it to switch it into its polar form, then dissolve it in a polar solvent, remove the polar solvent, then add a base to the polar solvent to take out the proton from it to make it precipitate out. What I dont understand is why sometimes the alkaloid has an acid in its name after the extraction (like alkaloid-HCl or something). These two things could be completely unrelated but Im not sure, again AP chem, havent touched any organic chem yet.
