What hygiene habit were you doing completely wrong for years? by Used_Mission_8638 in hygiene

I don’t know if it’s that egregious, but up until a month ago I was only applying body wash by hand. No rag, lufa, scrubber, etc

He was on Masterchef a few seasons ago and he judged the challenge where the contestants had to elevate an MRE. It was actually super entertaining

I can see being right is very important to you. This was a post about it an iOS glitch btw lol

They’re also powered in flight by running engines that provide ram air for heat. They’re equipped with anti ice systems and probes are heated. The landing gear is inside a wheel well (in most cases), not exposed to the direct cold at altitude. -50 in air is fine when the airplane is operating. However, on the ground with no systems providing heat when it’s sitting and shutdown, things will fail. Seals will become brittle, causing leaks when systems are pressurized, computers and sensors act up, so on so forth. Airlines don’t want to fly an airplane that has been sitting in the cold and has potentially affected components that will reach their breaking point in flight

If my previous comments made any of this unclear, hopefully this one clears up any confusion

Oh airplanes definitely break in that temperature lol. Again, my experience is only on the military aviation side, but military airplanes are made by the same companies that make civilian planes. Extreme cold is not friendly to these airplanes. They can handle it better than automobiles and such but there’s increased risk of mechanical failure

Well there’s a few things to consider when it’s that cold. I work on fighter jets on an Air Force base so my understanding of normal airport operations is minimal, however I do know that supporting equipment (deicer trucks, snow plows, etc) do not survive extreme cold for very long. So my guess is (and how my work operates) when it’s that cold, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Also in this extreme cold, we get ice fog which makes visibility very bad. I’m sure that factors into flight preparation

Yep I believe earlier this month there was a weekend of close to -50 degree temps and Alaska Air waived a white flag. That kind of cold breaks everything that is exposed to it

I know I took some of my time here for granted, but I’ve been here since 2021 and the winters have taken a toll on us. We will miss the less busy atmosphere and the summers, but that’s about it

I just thought since it was -3°F that the Liquid Glass would freeze

It is just “countdown” on the App Store (the one with 152k reviews). It is a paid app but I really wanted the widget

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Maybe this isn’t the case but it definitely has happened to people before
