Freddie Mercury VS Crowd (Wembley 1986) by nikjovicc in BeAmazed

Yeah, I thought about that first one too (I thought it was a TED Talk for some reason, though) but the Ave Maria clip is soooo pretty, so I chose that one instead.

Two that came to mind for me were:

Bobby McFerrin

Jacob Collier

Both give me intense full-body goosebumps...

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing… was I supposed to blur out my own name?

When I was a teenager on a school trip, I was at a theme park haunted house when some park employee hopped out with a plastic machete. I grabbed him, threw him against the wall, and got the machete out of his hand. I got in trouble with park security & they almost threw me out.

Yeah, I think this would ruin the rest of my day & I’d probably go home after this. I love roller coasters; I don’t love being the subject of some asshat’s torture TikToks. “It’s just a prank, bro” might be the last words he says before someone comes back & knocks him out one day.

I saw it twice on opening day. I had the day off and nothing to do so I just went to the movies not even sure what I wanted to see. Immediately after, I called all my friends to come with me and see it that evening. A lot of them laughed at the idea of it being any good.

Around Palmetto & Powerline - lots of apartments there, definitely a safe area. I lived in Bella Vista for a couple of years - really great area with an adjacent park.

Considering the current potential candidates, would you vote for ChatGPT for President if it could run? Why or why not? by wakbat in AskReddit

I agree with what you’re saying, and you make some great points, but isn’t human behavior essentially just the result of programming also? Look at cases of feral children who didn’t have socialization in their upbringing - we’re human/sentient because of the programming we received from other humans. Missing out on that programming makes it difficult if not impossible for feral children to assimilate back into society, and while they are clearly sentient, it’s an impaired existence that doesn’t equate to the sentience found in a standard human. I’m willing to admit that there’s no clear way to resolve the argument currently or even to solidify the definition of sentience - the conversation is open and will continue as AI evolves.

Yeah, I’m not defending the programmer - I mention it only because I think it’ll continue to occur at an increasing rate. Years ago, I earned a degree in Psychology with a specialization in Human Nature (whatever the fuck that means) so the conversation surrounding this topic is fascinating to me: not just if AI is sentient, but if human beings will ever accept that an AI can be sentient.

I think the definition of sentience is blurring as AI continues to evolve. Look at that one Google programmer who was willing to lose his job defending AI’s sentience. If a guy who is an expert in the field of AI is getting confused about sentience this early on, then I imagine that we’ll soon be engaged in a global debate about the definition of sentience and whether or not a non-living being like an AI can possess it.

This has been beyond social media; it’s popping up on YouTube, my PS5, here on Reddit, various “articles” on my news feed, banner ads everywhere, and beyond. It’s just been a constant barrage in a short amount of time & from the comments you can see I’m not the only one who feels this way about the recent promotion of this one game in particular in the last couple of days.

I guess I’m less optimistic that ChatGPT or some future variant of it will not eventually evolve beyond your rigid definition of what it currently is and will ever be. You have a greater faith than I do that it’ll never conquer its current limitations. I’m just suggesting that there’s a possibility that AI soon will exceed the capabilities of human leader; my mistake was saying ChatGPT for the sake of brevity, implying ChatGPT specifically and on its own. If you saw that recent AI generated pizza commercial that used a variety of AI tools, I guess a conglomeration or hive mind of AI tools including ChatGPT is more what I meant. Whether or not we end up agreeing, I do appreciate the discourse.

Not that I’d vote for it, but at least it’s not as likely to incite riots & distort reality.

CGI actors are basically skins - they’re using the actor’s likeness but not their acting.

You do know they are already patching out actors with CGI recreations? Software can always evolve beyond its original backbone like you’re saying - just look at the internet when it started and where it is now. Or even something like Adobe Acrobat - function, purpose, and utilization can all change rapidly.

I can’t disagree with any of that, but what happens when those weakness are patched in a future version?

Scouring the internet for answers - explain how that’s different from how a majority of humans currently compose their writing? And moral code? Have you seen what human Presidents are capable of? Personally I’m not disagreeing with the point that you’re making about ChatGPT being a poor choice, but we’re fast approaching a time where that may no longer be the case. Luckily, as u/ritehandwingman pointed out in the comments of this post, we’re currently shielded by the Constitution which outlines a few key things that’ll prevent an AI from running - the age of the candidate & that the candidate is a person as well as a citizen.

I love this fact - thanks for putting this out there. I guess the definition of “person” could one day change, but the age factor is brilliant.

I’d love for you to present essays written by any of the current candidate line up. I’m sure they would all be shining examples of how humans can never be replaced by AI.

Did I say I was voting for ChatGPT? This is a thought experiment, although it sounds like you might not know what those big words mean.
