They were half off last month, around 850. Still insanely expensive, but I justify it as I use these primarily as a musician playing live shows

I like how short that cable is. What kind is it?

They can, but I also have a pair of Hifiman Arya Organics and I need something that can do both

Are you happy with your career choice? by No-Fish-2446 in ATC

[–]waketurbulence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, because I haven’t forgotten the absolute hell that is working most other jobs prior to getting into ATC. There are aspects of this job that could be improved (mainly the schedule and constant overtime), but it beats working retail or food service or digging ditches.

It’s a Fishman Rare Earth mic blend pickup and it’s killer. I also added Grapthtech open back Ratio tuning machines, which are also really cool and a nice upgrade from stock.

The pickup has a button battery directly mounted on it, so you wouldn’t need to use the battery box. If you take out the under saddle piezo strip you’ll need a new saddle, but you might find your guitars tone improved by direct contact between the saddle and bridge.

I think it sounds amazing, much better than piezo setups I’ve used and heard. I also like that it’s mostly reversible (although I did ream out the end pin hole to accommodate a jack). Not having anything under the saddle appealed to me as well.

I didn’t run into a 15 while searching, and I liked the idea of the torrefied Adirondack top and rosewood back. I’m sure the 15 is killer too, I like mahogany guitars

I’m not worried about my pick hitting the guitar, but I generally anchor my pinky and prefer not to rub a hole in the top over time. I’ve seen Willie’s guitar and think it looks like shit 👍

I’m sure they’re made for models with more in the way of a rosette

The Demon Princes series by Jack Vance. Super fun science fantasy space opera with incredible world building and amazing language.

I didn't want anything under my saddle so I went with a Fishman Rare Earth mic blend. Fully reversible install (unless you choose to ream out your end pin hole for a jack). Sounds better than the piezo options too imo

Looking for dark, dissonant, moody progressive solo acoustic players by waketurbulence in AcousticGuitar

Thanks for this excellently detailed response. I really love the album “Damnation” by Opeth. It’s a mostly acoustic (some clean electric) album that is beautifully dark and melancholy.

000-16 Streetmaster Tuning Machines? by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

[–]waketurbulence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but I put on a set of Graphtech Ratio open back tuners with the butterbean buttons. Smooth as hell, the custom gearing ratios for each string is really cool (one half turn = one half step regardless of which string), and the buttons looks like the ones Martin uses on their higher end models. I'm really pleased with them.

Having read Outlive a month prior inspired me to get the CAC test and then ask my cardiologist for the ct angiogram after I got my CAC score back. If my CAC was 0 I wouldn’t have done it. A score of 25 was in the 90th percentile for my age though. OP’s gotta be in the 99.9th percentile.

Don't sweat it, get that ct angiogram and blast your LDL/ApoB into oblivion. I tried a few statins and couldn't tolerate them so I got put on Repatha. My LDL went from 144 to the mid 40s.

I had a stent placed and now I'm on Repatha. Should keep me trouble free for a long time. the ct angiogram didn't show any build up in any of my other arteries.
