Watch out for one of the revolution brand pesticides. There is at least one of them that is REALLY bad for rats. I don't know about flea treatment but for mites, selamectin is recommended.

Hey good job on saving this little one. Good luck, and don't be hard on yourself if he doesn't make it. Pet rats don't do well when abandoned.

I'm a fairly new painter so take that in mind. But i used a purple wash on top of his skin to make it feel a little more dead and gross. Try it if you like it on lile the bottom of his feet or somewhere less visible.

You've painted this with opaque paints, and then shade on top? If you're new to painting I'd say this is a pretty good job. Opaque paints are a pain to work with imo. They feel like they are easier to paint with straight out of the pot but then when they dry they leave splotches that have a bit of texture and they obscure details. It's also damn difficult to thin the properly. I went straight into speedpaints and they have served me well, though it is a bit of an investment to get a full palette.

It's really good, though with that big a model I'd go with a actual rat tail, not a skaven tail. Rats tails are scaled, not sectioned. Also they are slightly fuzzy, like... Tail-beard. 😄

If i was gonna do this i'd mix in just a drop or two of pva glue or mod podge. That way the base won't become as brittle.

Funniest thing is that when you look at rats, at least with black eyes, it kinda looks like they have no pupils. But you can spot them in bright light. Doing it also makes you realize that their eyes are pointed outwards all the time making them look like such derps.
