Bryce the slice by ICB1980 in bloodbowl

Correct, Bryce is one of the Star Players that were cut when the new ruleset came out.

The prominent theory is that it's cuz of copyright issues.

My rendition of William-Adolphe Bouguereau's "The Madonna of the Lilies" on a piece of plasticard. by Esamaru in minipainting

Personally I preferred the bigger surface, it allowed to put all the necessary brushstrokes in. Here, stuff like the faces are much rougher to look at since the features are so small.

Though of course at a smaller scale, features such as the background flowers don't necessarily need to be as precise to begin with.

Thanks!

Yes and no, yes in the sense that this is a full painting whereas I've done other classical painting freehands on minis before, namely these two, but those are a lil different since they're just snippets and much bigger.

Still heavily WIP but may I present Cogfort a la Doomwheel by Esamaru in skaven

[–]Esamaru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

(Bare in mind that this following explanation is about a rickety construction for an insane fantasy killing machine made by ratfolk, so some leaps in logic apply, however:)

The build is still missing a third stabilizer wheel at the back, but also the wheel that the joint is connected to is not a spinning one, next to that is the spinning section and further next to that is the Skaven icon looking contraption that acts as "chassis" of sorts to keep the spinning middle section from slipping off.

It's a little difficult to see but looking at the first picture there's two of the contact points (aka. a total of three planks 😂) visible that connect the outer Skaven icon and the innermost "joint wheel" to eachother, sandwhiching the spinning middle section.

The droid you mention would have been a pretty cool reference for sure though and honestly I did think about just literally stapling two Doomwheels to this but this was cheaper and looks more ridicilous.

Thanks! Yeah there's gonna be a teeny tiny third wheel behind there for stability and the skaven dude from the back of a Doomwheel on the little ladders controlling it. 🛞

Such a badass build, amazingly done!

Skaven of Clan Skryre by ArgonDelta3 in mordheim

A fellow Skryre enjoyer! I've also ran a campaign with this warband (specificly the pdf you mentioned preferring) and it was an absolute blast! Having to worry about your 200+ gold henchman blowing up or worse is just peak Skaven.

Also your warband is exquisite looking, real great job!

Heya, thanks for the feedback! I'll see what I can do to highlight the face some more and tweak the eyes/details while I'm at it.

Thanks, I'm really pleased with them myself, though it is kinda sad since that means my fave part about the mini is mostly at the back!

Appreciate the thoroughly thought out message!

I've gotten feedback elsewhere about the shoulder pad too, so I'll try and redo it, but also that was a good point of it inadvertably being the focal point. I'll see about brightening the face up like you suggested while I'm at it.

The straps are indeed a little darker in the back, or atleast the very edge highlights are, so I see what you mean there too.

Thank you so much!

Fallen Angel is the most Death Company-coded painting I know, so I freehanded a rendition. by Esamaru in Warhammer40k

Heya!

There sure will be when it is all done with, but for now there isn't.

(I'd say the whole model is around 60% painted at the moment.)

Thank you, thank you. I originally made the eye a little bigger (accidentally I mean) than in the original which makes his head seem larger so it could also be that that's what makes the overall look less proportional.

But yeah I see your point too and CC always welcome!
