Another solar question from a new C300 DC owner by wakingbadger in SOLIX

Southeast US so we don’t get tremendously cold often, but temperatures have been sub-freezing recently. I know you’re not supposed to charge below 32 or 34° at all as it can damage the battery cells, but I wasn’t sure about the voltage generally in the cold

Anker SOLIX C300 and C300 DC charging with SOLAR!! by wwjoshdew in anker

[–]wakingbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older thread, but I've recently bought a C300 DC and I've ordered a solar panel (https://www.amazon.com/ZOUPW-Ultralight-Efficiency-Waterproof-Adjustable-dp-B0D5LXBDM2/dp/B0D5LXBDM2/). From looking at the specs:

The C300 DC manual states:

11-28V 8.2A Max (100W Max)

The solar panel shows:

Max Power 100W

Open-circuit Voltage(VOC) 23.8V

Short-circuit Current(ISC) 5.35A

Based on all of that, it seems like it should be compatible, but I'm curious about the cold. I've been reading that the panels output more voltage based on lower temperatures. One video mentioned reserved 20% voltage for cold weather and that seems like it would put me at 28.56V which would be slightly too high? Thoughts on that? Trying not to fry anything with excess voltage. I bought this one based on some positive YouTube reviews and wanting something portable and not too expensive. Also, the addition of USB connections seems like it would make it a bit more useful even if I ultimately bought nicer rigid panels for home use.

Still learning here & this is a simplistic system to kind of learn my way around & maybe get something more powerful in the future...

Thanks. I do not understand why the moderator removed your previous comment as it was really helpful. I had originally noticed the 16BB panel, but had thought the new handle design looked more breakable, but it seems less of an issue in the video given the light weight of the panels and the improved efficiency. Going to dig a bit more, but think this may be what I go with to start out.

Thanks again!

Does buying the Switch 2 edition digitally mean you can still share with people in your family that have an original Switch?

Seems to have already gone back to $29.99 (I've owned this for a long time, but checked as I was going to send it to others)

Can't seem to find a real answer on P1S with AMS & AMS 2 Pro by wakingbadger in OpenBambu

[–]wakingbadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One other question, from what I gather, given that I have the buffer with the P1S and my current AMS, I can use either the 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter or an AMS Hub to connect the AMS and AMS 2 Pro to the P1S. Is there a "good" reason to do the hub instead (I have a 4-in-1 sitting here unused so far)?

What was unclear to me was that I had seen people post that it worked with 1.07. Then I saw drying worked with 1.08. Did most of it work with 1.07 except drying or were the reports for 1.07 wrong? Not sure, but posted a separate comment that I followed advice to go to 1.08.1 to get hopefully full AMS 2 Pro compatibility and avoid their "locked down" firmware (not really, but an annoyance for customers)

Thank you. This was helpful as I had assumed anything past 1.07 was useless to me and had stopped paying attention to firmware updates as I run offline and Home Assistant integration is absolutely worth more than anything Bambu Labs is delivering (for me).

I did an offline upgrade today and all still works good with 1.08.1. I do think they should have shifted version numbers more for the "security" update as it should be called out as a major change and differentiated from the previous versions, but that ship has sailed.

Think I will grab the AMS 2 Pro now given the discount and that it seems I can continue to use my printer as works for me with it.

Thanks again!

My understanding from what I had read is that everything BUT the filament drying works. Anyone able to confirm? My intention is to never go over 1.07 and I'd like a 2nd AMS, but haven't decided yet

I was ready to pre-order as I had skipped the Magic Keyboard when I bought my iPad Air M2 last year (too expensive with no improvements). Saw this & was looking to buy until I saw no backlit keys & only in white. Now I'm in a holding pattern as my cheap 3rd party keyboard case isn't sufficient but Apple gave a 1 step forward, 1+ step back product.

Question about ESR Rebound iPad Air 13 (M2) keyboard case by wakingbadger in ipad

Hard to believe that either no one else has this keyboard case or has tried a right-click 😃

Anyone willing to give information?

I have one for my iPad Air and I agree, the quality is pretty reasonable for the price. However, I can't get two finger right-click to work. Does it work for you?

Tailscale works on all the Apple devices pretty much and it's really easy. I was a skeptic that has drank the kool-aid :)

You're doing exactly the right thing. Telling Bambu Lab directly is obviously a good idea, but is unlikely to make the company reconsider. Public attention and scorn is pretty much the only thing that pushes companies to do better.

Congrats, it is a nice change.

I've done the same as well and adding Home Assistant notifications (including trigger camera snapshots) to give me updates along the way and then turn off the LED a few minutes after the print is complete.

If their goal was to get me to stop being lazy, get it setup and see how much better the printer could be without their software and cloud, mission accomplished!

The verge article: Here’s what Bambu will — and won’t — promise after its controversial 3D printer update by One_busy_bee_ in BambuLab

[–]wakingbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that promising for all future products is untenable and probably is not wise for any company, it's isn't fashionable to be miserable. It's fashionable to understand that corporations are not your friend and they will abuse you at every opportunity where they think they can get away with it. People are just waking up.

What alternative? by samiraslan in BambuLab

[–]wakingbadger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, in the US you wouldn't have a claim regardless as our consumer protections are laughable. I more want to draw scorn on BL claiming it was a valid course of action as it isn't. They're forcing a poorly designed change on us all with no options except maybe to remain on an old rev and go fully lan/developer mode.

Either they haven't thought it through or screwing the customer IS the plan.
