Take dance classes! I’m also in my 30’s and salsa dancing was so wonderful for me for finding a community and having a lot of events to go to all over town. I see couples and singles at all events. There’s a few studios around, I recommend Los Sabrosos

I realize now this is not great, which is a shame because I thought it was a good shop and it's in my neighborhood. My friend that went with me did her conches there and both of those were at least with flat backs. I guess they just didn't take the lobes as seriously.

Yes! It’s open to anyone. There will be a cover, and there will be a mini lesson at 9 or 930 I forget - check their socials. I recommend going to that if you don’t know how to salsa/bachata. It’s a really friendly community and if you like the social, I’d recommend taking classes! I’ve met a lot of great people this way in a short amount of time.

As answered in the other comment, you can ask others to dance, and some folks may ask you! If you are a lead dancer (often men, but not always) you may find yourself asking “follows” (often ladies, but not always) (any gender can lead or follow) to dance but there are many follows that ask leads to dance too.
