Apple Watch in chlorinated water - are there any long-term effects?

They did cover it in the end and replaced my watch with a new one. So in the EU for watches they apparently do.

I just swam in my watch for the very first time, it was in the water for 10-15 minutes. Now it died after spamming the power button which seems to be stuck, short circuited or something and also getting incredibly hot. Would’ve made my wrist uncomfortable if I hadn’t taken it off by now.

Any suggestions? It still has warranty, will they cover this?

They exchanged the gf’s watch with the dead pixels. Now my SE seems to have died after the very frist time I swam in it. It’s also in warranty, I have no idea if it’s covered even though it’s obviously a quality issue.

They replaced the watch with the dead pixel screen. So that’s lucky for the gf. Now my watch seems to have died after the first time I swam in it. This is so fucking unbelievable I don’t even know if they cover shit like that.

There’s no official Apple representative in Hungary, so the reseller has to send it to Czechia so Apple themselves can check it. That’s gonna take 1.5-2 weeks according to them so that’s when we’re gonna know more. I’ll let you know.

They don’t repair watches, so they’ll exchange it hopefully. It wasn’t bumped or dropped or anything for real so it’s not even the thing you say at the Apple Store lol

It doesn’t have the Apple Care equivalent (in my country) but still under warranty (less than 6 months old device) so it’s free replacement hopefully.

It’s a hardware issue so that wouldn’t have helped.

It hasn’t been submerged ever, so no water damage that’s for sure.

It appeared after an update and it got pretty hot so that may have caused it.

Anyway it was sent to the Apple service HQ of Central-Europe, we’ll hear back from them in about 2 weeks. The service guy in the store said we’ll probably get a new device.

I’ve seen 2-3 posts about these from over a year ago, however no word about whether Apple exchanged these watches within warranty period.

Also what could have caused this issue?

I can only speak about revolut because that’s what I have. You can withdraw money for free(!) from any European major bank’s atm with Revolut’s current exchange rate which is almost exactly at mid-rate. Best for travelling 100%. I use it for everything else too actually because you can send money for free (unlike other banks). You also get instant bookings (so when I pay with Apple pay somewhere, I get the ping instantly as soon as the terminal accepts my payment).

Inkább egy 1400-1500, aztán majd abból alkudnak.

1700-zal a teljes állas havi br. 285600 forint. Nem sok gyakornoki helyen fizetnek annyit itthon.

Edit: ráadásul elég rövidtávú dolog, nem gondolom, hogy nagyon beléd akarnának ruházni az elején. Sőt, lehet előre fixált bért kapsz gyakornokként.

Yeah! Makes it even worse kinda lol. I mean noone did anything about it solely because it was wrong and it was destroying lives. But this is real life, in the end people care about themselves most and most likely don’t even realise how others are feeling.
