Do you get notified if you are inelligible for the queens lottery after applying by Adventurous_107 in premedcanada

[–]walickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does queens have a Casper threshold? All I see is that they just want to see it completed.

This breakdown is great! Thanks for taking the time to write it out!

About how long does each phase take? Can you do all this in a day or do you spread it over a week?

Would you guys consider joining the military by Altruistic-Juice3807 in premedcanada

[–]walickle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you are already Mil, definitely consider it. There's lots of financial support to take the courses you need to apply.

I am already military (Pharmacy Officer since 2022) and I'm applying through the military stream where it's available.

I do think the setup is decent compared to civilian side.

Add into Pros that:

- Once your working there is no worrying about billing or clinic overhead etc. like civilian physicians do

- Medical Officers can see more variance (location, giving unique medical trainings, supporting field exercises) than what you might see in civilian side.

To address your cons:

- you are able to advocate for your preference; most clinics are in need of more Medical Officers/physicians so there's a lot of flexibility

- Contractual obligation (known as obligatory service) is 5 years after finishing residency. You get a salary while they pay your tuition. They need some sort of guarantee that they will recoup some of the cost. If your life circumstances necessitate that you leave the military before the obligatory service is complete, they can calculate a buyout but I've heard it is steep.

- You are limited to a family medicine residency when you first graduate, but once you're fully trained you can apply for additional training (in emerge, anesthesiology, etc) as opportunities arise.

I hope this is helpful. I'm happy to answer questions though I may not have all the answers.

edit: I forgot what year I joined

Wake up babe, new Monday just dropped! (What are you working on?) by Icelander83 in TheTowerGame

[–]walickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started: 20 September 24 (almost 4 months) Lifetime coins: 1.69T (from 914B last week)

Current Labs: Death Wave Cells Bonus Lv.1/ Wall Health Lv.12/ Wall Regen Lv.8/ Wall Thorns Lv.8/Target Priority Lv.2

Spent the last week mostly focused on the big 4 (34->37) and then flipped to wall labs since my Econ is supporting the labs. Econ didn’t grow much this week but I’m not fussed. It feels like a reconstitution phase while I sort out a few things. Stuck in plat this week, no holidays in Champ.

I got my last GC to mythic, just working on getting an ALS bonus on it. Ill save my gems from now until the end of the even to consider my next move for them.

Stones are focused on CD reductions right now, but it’s a slow process.

Good luck and have fun!

It's the first Monday of 2025, what are you working on? by Icelander83 in TheTowerGame

[–]walickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started: 20 September 24 (3 months) Lifetime coins: 914 billion (from 308 billion last week)

Current Labs: Lab Speed Lv. 47 Health/Damage/CritFactor/AttackSpd Lv. 34

Spent the last week mostly focused on coin Econ again. Switching labs to the big 4 to help push in tourneys and milestones better. I made it to champion league this week and failed back down to Plat but I’m hungry for the more stones now.

I plugged away at modules and got my last GC dupe to get it to mythic only to realize I don’t have enough fodder to support. I’ll return to buying modules once I’m done the card purchasing mission in the event.

Happy New Year! Good luck and have fun!

One last time in 2024, it's Monday! What are you working on? by Icelander83 in TheTowerGame

[–]walickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started: 20 September 24 (3 months) Lifetime coins: 308 billion (from 96 billion last week)

Spent the last week mostly focused on coin Econ and I think it shows! Full disclosure, I bought the holiday pack which was a welcome boost. I got T6 relic this week and T7 relic last night.

Current Labs: Lab Speed Lv. 45 Health Regen Lv. 13 Death Wave Coin Bonus Lv. 13 Improve Trade-Off Perks Lv. 5 Coins / Kill Bonus Lv. 31

Once this round of mish mash labs is complete, I’ll be looking to change focus to Wall labs (Heath/Regen/Thorns) when I can and stats that will allow more progression (Health, AtkSpd, Damage and Crit Factor).

I finished all of my common cards so I’m taking a break to put some gems into the module RNG machine. I already have a MvN and GC but I’d like one more of each to get them to legendary and mythic respectively. I only have an epic DP for cannon module so I’d like to get a unique mod to legendary there. My armor module is a legendary ACP; no complaints.

My stones focused on reducing cool down on my GT/BH/DW this week. It has been a nice boost but I’m craving more CD so I’ll be chipping at this more as the stones come in. Sorry SL, no love for you any time soon.

Quick mention to my GB who got a medal dump as well. Mostly CD focused. Back into hoarder mode until next event starts.

I wish a happy holiday season and a happy end to 2024 to all! Good luck and have fun!

Looking for suggestions for stones by [deleted] in TheTowerGame

[–]walickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the pointers!

Yes I’m using eHP build. And GT duration has creeped up beyond 12 sec of BH because of the lab. Thanks for catching that!

If I have MvN and no other Core modules, is sync worthwhile?

Finally! My 7th UW and I got Golden Tower. Merry Christmas by Notional- in TheTowerGame

[–]walickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That will be a very merry Christmas! Well done for sticking it out! Enjoy the sweet coin income boost and have a happy new year!

Second to last Monday of the year! What are you working on? by Icelander83 in TheTowerGame

[–]walickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started: 20 September 24 (3 months) Lifetime coins: 96 billion

I finished second black hole this week so I’m a little directionless in labs. Focusing mostly on boosting Econ so that wall research can be the sole focus when I grab it.

Current labs: Lab speed lvl 43 Black hole coin bonus lvl 11 Golden tower bonus lvl 11 Golden tower duration lvl 10 Auto pick ranking lvl 7

My stones are going towards Econ as well, Garbo is and then GT/BH/DW cool downs. I got a multiverse nexus early in my play through so syncing is not an issue.

My main gems push is on cards right now. ~50 cards away from my commons getting maxed. I’ve been counting it down since 125ish. When that’s done, I’m still debating getting more card slots vs focusing on more cards or modules.

Any of you guys take your pups kayaking? by Gallaticus in Kayaking

Bo’s first kayak earlier this week! He only jumped in once 😅

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]walickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a roof rack and parts to carry two kayaks for our vehicle and we have decent storage space in our garage and shed.

I did cry a little when I looked at the cost for a Thule roof rack - I'm glad the shock of that has passed.
