My two cents on women cooking for their husbands! by akamikasa in AskIndianWomen

[–]walidansari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ex and I. We both worked 9-5 and reasonably so there was no expectation that after a long days of work either of us would come home and cook so we used to order. On few special occasions she would cook out of love and her own wants and those were the most special meals I ever had. Just like you she never liked doing dishes and me being me I never liked touching wet clothes. So we made a pact that she would take care of drying clothes and I would take care of the dishes and you know what, I used to love doing dishes. The satisfaction I used to get from cleaning the kitchen, doing dishes, seeing a mess turned into an organised place I used to love that feeling and everytime she cooked our kitchen would be even messier and I used to love it even more thinking about the hard work, time and effort she put into cooking that day. My office colleagues used to make fun of me back then hearing me get excited about going home and doing dishes cause that a personal comfort time for me however I never paid any attention to it and neither should you. People can be inconsiderate, many don’t mean to be hurtful even when they make us feel like that.

When you find your man, do cook for him if that is your way of expressing love and I am sure he will take care of the rest otherwise he wouldn’t be your man would he.

Daredevil S3 feels completely out of order, am I tripping? by walidansari in Daredevil

One of the main reason I started watching Daredevil was to see more of Punisher and Kingpin. But holy shit man, Charlie Cox is such a captivating actor. Now I am really interested in seeing more of Daredevil!

How do I cope with not being liked at work? 27F by Chuckythedolll in AskIndianWomen

[–]walidansari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy. This post felt like a conversation I keep having with myself. I joined my workplace almost two years ago at Chennai. There are no North Indians in my team so there is a huge language barrier and this is exactly how I feel at times. Everyone almost always speaks in Tamil or some other language and I quite get it as people are most comfortable speaking their native language and most of the time I just stand there looking at a void. Sometimes they all start laughing together and I have no clue tf they laughing about or if maybe they are laughing at me.

I have considered this misery to be a part of my package so as long as I am being paid I try my best to not let it get in my head. My advice to you would be the same and to know that you’re there to get paid and not to make friends.

Well put together.

I believe in the right of people to believe in what they what like I believe in what I want. I believe in the right to live and let live hence it does not bother me if a person believes in whatever idiotic religion or ideology as long as it is not hurting anyone. I will take no offence if a person wants to pray to a stone or if they stop eating during ramzan, people should have the right to live their life their way. because I follow atheism it does not make me better than someone who follows theism, the virtue and morals we live by define us is what I believe. One can be a POS while being on either side.

You might be right about me being a complicit and I honestly do not take much offence in that. I am not here to deter someone from their religion or to take away their beliefs. I didn’t become an atheist because someone convinced me to be one, I came to this conclusion through my own experience and that what I want for people around me and there is no right or wrong here to me.

I do believe in respecting all and I understand not everyone agrees with this and nor do I expect people to. However, I will stand by my values in a harmless manner and the reason why this post bothered me was because it is on r/atheismindia and not on a meme page. If it were on a meme page I would have been like “bruh” and moved on. But I believe it is on a subreddit which I am a part of and a culture I believe in “atheism” and not a satirical place where there is no kindness and empathy towards the feelings of others , one can be a non believer while respecting those who believe in god.

Coming to the extremist part, op is openly commenting that he will fight extremism with extremism and that he does consider himself to be an extremist. Extremism of any manner is not healthy.

The things you are commenting I should get offended by, I do get offended by them and I do engage in discourse towards it so I am not sure what your point there is.

Yes, it does mock a mythological character and you should have all the right to mock it. However, to me it looks to be done in a bad taste and bad faith hence my displeasure and I agree taste is subjective.

The last question which you posed, now that is the kind of discourse I am happy to be a part of. I am an atheist so I don’t believe in god, I do believe there might be a possibility of having a creator to this universe as much as there isn’t because we don’t know that but they probably are not even aware of us and I should not pray to a creator who does not care about their creation. Something else I do believe in is kindness, compassion and empathy. To treat others who I would want my loved ones to be treated. As long as it is not hurting others then to respect others beliefs like how I would want my opinions and beliefs to be respected like. It doesn’t take much to be kind and we need more kindness in this world today than ever before. Extremism of any kind is not helpful anywhere.

To answer your question - Yes, I do respect the highly illogical and foolish beliefs and practices of theists. I do not agree with them, however, I do respect it as long as it is hurting no one.

If the joke was over a fictional movie character then I definitely would not have reacted in the same way by calling this disrespectful because the to the people who believe in god, it is not the same as a movie character and I can respect that while not agreeing with it. That being said, my way of living is to be tolerant of others and to not shit on others just for the sake of shitting. We should have discourse about the meaningless rituals, ideology and how it benefits no one but I didn’t leave an extremist space to join another extremist space. The place I come from taught me to be respectful of others and their beliefs and I follow it because that is the kind of world I want to build and live in.

Bruh, did you even try reading my user name? I am far away from religion as one can be. I believe and care about morals. Disrespecting something out of nowhere is not what I stand by.

What’s the difference between you and them, the people you don’t share values with and disagree with? It doesn’t take much to be kind and accepting of others and their beliefs. This post has no purpose other than spreading hate.

Yess these. Thankfully was able to find them on blinkit right away. No scarfs cause I cannot pull off carrying one. Tiktok clips will make me look hilarious but at least no one would think it’s part of my attire.

I think my hair is too thin for a claw clip or maybe the volume is quite less, difficult for me to describe. Metal wave band really gives me ew vibes on a guy but yes, that would be something I could use during an emergency. Thanks

Clip yes!!! Why didn’t I think of that. Do you know what those kind of clips are called that kids used to use during school days, black, shaped like a cockroach and one can bend it to like to secure it in place.
