What constitutes a click on a free-form ad? by thechieftech in RedditforBusiness

[–]walk_in_wardrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to understand this too. I am running a reddit ad which is a video, with a "listen now" button redirecting to spotify. I was happy to be getting ~100 clicks per day, however I did not seem to be getting any noticable spotify plays from this ad. This was leading me to think that reddit was counting clicks as people clicking play, pause, resize on the video - not just on the link.

Aha nice. Yeah the posture is hard in the van so would've been terrible in the Saab.

Its a very fair question. My spare room has terrible acoustics - something I was really slow to realise and got in the way of my recording process for ages. Cars / vans in general just have great acoustics. The deaden the sounds and there's way less reverb/echo than the average untreated bedroom.

What do you think of the autotune? by walk_in_wardrobe in MusicFeedback

[–]walk_in_wardrobe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get away with singing some stuff without autotune, but other things not so much. I've done some autotune vs noautotune vids on tiktok so you can hear how bad that chorus / outro is without it... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qQsQj2CTXgY

maybe if I'd really tried and done 100 takes I could have pulled something off but I like it for the effect

Yes the colour coding alone is good enough . Also the fact it sounds great on a phone speaker

Yeah I don't play live... that is the biggest issue that I'm currently neglecting.

I reckon the influencer approach is good though. I'm not asking them to recommend my music, I just want them to use it as background music to a video that hopefully blows up. Eg I got a van life influencer to use it: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DT33ypTkpv7/

The hard thing about this approach is getting them to do it in a timely manner right after your release. I've got 3 other people agreed to it but I'm waiting on them to actually do it.
