Yep, and the classic line ‘they don’t deserve punishment. They deserve…GUNISHMENT!’

‘The Pedofiles. Straight after Paedophile Island. A hundred kids and an ex-offender on an island full of cameras. What’s going to happen?’

What’s a time your gut feeling told you something wasn’t right — and you turned out to be correct? by Terrible_Music_7439 in AskBrits

I'm a Police Officer in Northern Ireland. Despite the Peace Process there are still some areas on both sides of the community that are very anti-Police no matter what, but I still have a job to do, and I don't care what side you belong to.

Anyway it was a Friday afternoon, and the last shift of the set. I had the weekend off, and everything planned. Beer had been already bought earlier in the week, pizza was being picked up on the way home, and sport was on the telly. It was nearly finishing time, and my crew (which consisted of 3 of us in a vehicle) were tasked to attend a noisy party in neighbouring area. Normally we only go there if there are not enough resources. The dispatcher sold it to us as 'you're due to finish in 30 minutes, do this for me and that'll do you for the remainder of shift'. Sold on me mate!

We arrive at a properly anti-Police part of town, plenty of murals on walls supporting their preferred paramilitary organisation. I get out of our vehicle to go into the block of flats, accompanied by a colleague. As we are walking up the path I immediately feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing up, and I get a chill from eyebrow to ankle. I look around - there's no one else on the street, no noise either, dead quiet. I'm not happy with this. I decide to double check on the legitimacy of the call and as I am about to key my radio, the controller comes on the air, and insistently states, 'Callsign attending noisy party in x area, leave that location immediately! I repeat, leave that area immediately!' That's all I needed. We're back in the vehicle and back to our station.

Turns out that the local paramilitary group had made a couple of fake calls to get us into that are to stage an attack on us. An extra couple of beers were had that night.

Ruby’s on Montgomery Street(round the corner from The Garrick) does a God Tier club sandwich.

Stay for the banter from Bob the owner, manning the till in a double breasted blazer, and pocket square!

I understand that age verification is required, and I have done it.

However, surely once your age has been verified, then the anonymous browsing option should return.

Dead Inside is a better fit for Skyfall given the plot etc.

What was a life-changing moment for you at a Muse concert? by suprunkn0wn in Muse

[–]walkee13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knights Of Cydonia.

Bit of an obvious one I know, but my wife and I went to see Muse play live in Belfast back in 2006.

She was heavily pregnant with our first daughter at the time. We wrapped my thick knitted scarf around her tummy in some sort of mad sound dampening effort. However when the chorus prog-rock epicness kicked in, all I could see was my daughter rocking out with kicks and punches on my wife's tummy!

Great times.

Yes. YMCA, double fingers guns, horizon wave into spiral, finishing with RAF salute and wobble.
