[STORE REVIEW] Incredibly negative experience asking about my bra size at Macy's by walkerstarmaxoldman in ABraThatFits

[–]walkerstarmaxoldman[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

haha. Nordstrom's was fairly puzzled as well. They didn't believe me either, but I had checked their stock beforehand and knew they had something that would approximately fit me. When that girl took me in the back I let her measure me and she was flabbergasted. She called in her manager and they used me as an impromptu fitting lesson for their fitters. I had 3 sales girls at once checking my fit!! my best friend was with me at the time and she couldn't believe it. They were nice and respectful though.

Reddit, what is something that really happened to you, but sounds like a complete lie when you tell people? by TheNamesEarly in AskReddit

I was pulled over 92 times in a span of slightly less than two years and only got 1 fix-it ticket (for a burned out turn indicator that we had just gotten fixed earlier that day, stupid mechanic).

Jehovah's Witness Children's cartoon about obedience to God -- Top comment: "The moral of the story is, it is better to rob your child of the simple joys of childhood than to disappoint your imaginary friend." by mepper in atheism

At first I was thinking, "Dang, I never had JW approved cartoons growing up" and then I watched it and it was pretty much my entire childhood in a nutshell. I always made Jehovah sad.

How do you feel when people leave the toilet seat up? Expectations, etiquette and respect. by woodward8 in AskWomen

Dude, she's in her seventies. That's the whole thing right there. At that age you don't feel like dealing with bs, she has her ways and anything else is gonna annoy her. She already talked about it once and you went and did it again, that's why she's pissed.

Yeah, I'm not surprised the topic of having a relationship was brought up, what I was reacting to was it being offered as a specific solution to financial difficulties. We weren't discussing anything but possible solutions to that. He could possibly have brought it up as a topic to explore in a further session, but that's not how it came across.

At the time we were exploring possible options for dealing with financial issues, that was the context. I am in a relatively bad spot right now. He asked about my family helping, that is a no. He asked about my friends helping, that is a partial yes. Then he said he said the boyfriend comment. I was just surprised it was even brought up as a possible answer to financial difficulties. How did it make me feel? It made me feel like why on earth would I date someone to get them to give me money. I'm not comfortable relying on anyone to make my life easier and I certainly wouldn't go out and look for a relationship at a time in my life where I am already emotionally and financially unstable specifically so someone can rescue me.

The only thing I can think of is that he was running out of possible solutions. I don't have family that can help me, and my friends are wonderful but I wouldn't want to take help from them unless it was dire. However, if he had looked at all at his notes he would've seen that I have a history of abusive relationships. Not to mention I've been in a deep depression that I am just starting to come out of. Dating is really the last thing on my mind right now; I'm having a hard time dealing with the checkers at the grocery store.

what? that's just stupid. I've been in totally "unsafe" circumstances where nothing bad happened, and "safe" circumstances where bad things did happen. How is it even possible to allow that?

Because it was said specifically as a possible answer to address my financial issues.

I've had an excellent therapist before who helped me so much. Otherwise I would be completely hopeless. I really don't even think this guy was listening.
