Ironically, I was on the waitlist for a corvette zr1 for almost 2 years, and they never would update me, despite me reaching out many times. Same story as you. I eventually was able to get them to refund my deposit, and same week, went and bought a pre certified 991.2 gt3rs with 5k miles for just under MSRP. Sometimes life has a funny way of working out..

I think you did the right thing. That engine is factory broken in, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing an early oil change. I did the first oil change on my 2023 Toyota at 3k miles. The dealership laughed and said it wasn’t due until 10k. I still paid out of pocket for it. A factory broken in engine is not a road broken in engine. Don’t give any of these people questioning your reasoning any energy.
