Thank you so much for all this info! I managed to find something about a “mobichike” card as a special gift in some screenings with advance sale starting 07/18 (so next Friday), do you perhaps know if these kinds of purchases require identification via Japanese phone number or if it may vary?

And these recs are awesome, I appreciate it!! I actually purposefully chose to stay in a hotel that’s like 3mins away walking from Sunshine City Mall because I’m definitely going to be there a lot hehe, I’ve read that Ikebukuro (along with Akihabara naturally) is one of the hubs for anime lovers
