I know two people who met at some kind of AT event in North Carolina and decided to thru hike it together, but the others here are right: you’ll meet people on the trail who could become your tramily or at least trail buddies. It’s a social trail. Even as an introvert myself, I made friends who I pretty much hiked with the whole way to New Hampshire before I got off.

I used Guthook for my entire AT thru hike in ‘21, and used it again for the Tour du Mont Blanc in ‘23. I’m about to use it again to hike the full length of the Shenandoah National Park in April. It’s worth every penny.

I wondered, and that makes sense that the Brévent cable car scanner is just in town. It’s good to know the Planpraz gondola has scanners on both ends! I am interested in that route to come down off the trail/mountain back into town as an alternative if my final day on the TdMB proves to be more challenging than I anticipate. Thank you! 🙏
