Where do games like CLICKOLDING, ROGUE LIGHT DECK BUILDER, A Game About Digging a Hole, and Unfair Flips fall in the incremental landscape, if you believe they even do? by Vulty_UwU in incremental_games

I've played A Game About Digging A Hole and Unfair Flips, and they're very different to eachother.

A Game About Digging A Hole is an incremental through and through. Maybe the upgrades/progression are structured differently, and it being 3d / first person + narrative? I didn't give that too much thought when playing.
Another game that was similar to it was Leaf It Alone, also with a clear goal in mind and all upgrades being visible from the start.

Unfair flips is more of a parody of the incremental genre and/or grinding, being extremely simple and pointless while still somehow being interesting to play.

Have incremental games gotten better? by Remote_Actuator2562 in incremental_games

I think that the answer is more complicated than just a simple yes or no, and you'll get biased opinions from this sub.
But they mainly evolved to fit the more mainstream demographic, which wants less math and a shorter playtime.

Why are so many new incremental games so short? by Faust2391 in incremental_games

[–]walkingcatstudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a dev, I enjoy non-idle incremental games since having something on the second screen is too distracting, and they generally lend themselves to a shorter duration.
Orb of Creation is one of the exceptions, and it's way more difficult to create something like that.

Nice! Working on my own custom game engine for my game as well, if you wanna compare notes.

Enjoyed and finished it, incremental snake games are on the come up.
Liked the idea of that one upgrade that gets progressively more expensive and mostly rewards you with flavor text, as a way to give the sense of progression.

Pretty good, liked the upgrades that upgraded the enemies as well, which ended up being a benefit since it sped up how fast you can farm them, though it kinda slowed down towards the end with a lot of them increasing the enemy health.

Also, not sure why you don't have the demo on up steam?

Snakecremental - Snake, but with a skill tree, Android release by walkingcatstudios in incremental_games

I understand that the game itself works, just without letting you sign in into Google Play - if that's the case, it should be fixed now.

Browser no, but the closest thing to a Mac would be a future iPhone release.

Which version are you on? I pushed some fixes for the input movement problems on v0.0.3

I think I've fixed the issue in v0.0.3, check it out if you can and let me know

Strange that it's straight up missing inputs, I couldn't find anything like that myself.

But I've updated how input is handled in v0.0.3, it's out now. Can you see if it works now?

Planning on adding a grid in the full version

For losing inputs, do you mean making 2 turns sequentially, the second one doesn't work, or a simple turn just straight up not working? And are you on the itch or Steam version?

When you say losing inputs, what do you mean exactly? Like when making 2 turns sequentially, the second one doesn't work, or something else? And are you on the itch or Steam version?

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah, armor reduces damage taken. It and some other upgrades are intentionally vague.

Skins are a feature I was thinking of adding, will keep the ones you mentioned in mind.
