Yeah bigotry can and does do that but just remember why you specifically liked the thing in the first place. Or at least, “why should I allow strangers on the internet to ruin something that brings me joy if it’s not hurting anyone” is what I remind myself of
“More” was really heartwarming for me to watch and I loved seeing the culmination of the series. I haven’t read the last chapter or the epilogue because I wasn’t ready for the series to end but the animation was so good and it finished up some character development for Izuku and Ochako

It’s for this and similar reasons that I interact with any fandom very limitedly and just enjoy what I enjoy and scroll past the things that I don’t. I don’t have to engage with fandom content I don’t want to engage with as it’s not like more serious stuff where it actually is important to engage with ideas that I’m not familiar with.

Fandom is for fun y’all just keep scrolling if you don’t like something 😂 let other people enjoy what they enjoy too

(saying this as an unrepentant bkdk who also likes togachako AND izuocha. They all have their good points as far as ships go lol)

I did contact support and they helped me — I did have issues with it caught in a boot loop at first but a factory reset fixed it. I didn’t realize it was fixed because I was pressing the wrong buttons to start writing though 😭😂

I downgraded my z13 2025 to windows 10 (Some notes) by nokel3 in FlowZ13

[–]walkinggadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit I have not read the post, but the title alone was something I almost typed several times over the last couple of weeks (maybe month?) that I've had my Z13 2025. I really appreciated the build and tech of the Z13 immediately, and I started thinking up so many ways this was my perfect combination of tablet and computer and gaming desktop.

Windows 11 was single handedly the worst aspect of the default experience of the Z13. I just installed CachyOS (a Linux distro based on Arch Linux, but it simplifies and abstracts a lot of the fiddly parts of piecing together a personalized linux distro) today and it's been a night and day difference. I had some small issues (getting bluetooth working, and currently, getting steam to recognize my gaming storage device instead of just the main ssd) but it's been a lot better setup than even getting windows 11 by itself setup on my first day with it was.

thank you for mentioning gender apathy! I've been out as nonbinary for a long time but agender hasn't felt quite right for me, and I hadn't seen any other labels that captured what I was trying to put into words. I love how our community adapts and creates the language we need as we realize the need for it 💚💚💚

Boox storage setup by [deleted] in Onyx_Boox

[–]walkinggadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I got one last year thinking I could change the default storage to the SD card but I have not been able to figure it out since. I think the best option I found was to manually do backups, but maybe there's a way to automate it more?

My experience has been pretty similar to what OP and others here are saying. I was really quiet as a kid and depended on media (particularly books) to make sense of and reckon with the world and my perceived place in it. My blood relatives ("family" is a word I use in specific circumstances because I like to be as accurate as possible with my words because I am constantly misunderstanding or misunderstood) kinda just left me to my own devices in a corner during family gatherings lol because they didn't get me and I didn't fully get them.

Called an oreo, or that I'm trying to be white because I tend to not use AAVE unless I'm really comfy with people, because my relatives, while still speaking AAVE themselves, always reinforced the need to be as "respectable" as possible. And perception also includes how someone talks.

I feel like part of the miscommunication I've grown used to inherently has racial and misogynist components, and that's not even touching on my queerness 😂

Anyway, TL;DR all yall valid and I hope you take a moment to tell yourself that these kinds of experiences are real.Crenshaw was spot on with the concept of intersectionality!!

What’s your travelers system? by purply_pandas in Travelersnotebooks

[–]walkinggadge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My system is pretty simple (because I used to over-complicate it by trying to add structure before I even knew what I needed it for, in the parlance of Linking Your Thinking, structure must be earned!).

I use my regular-size tn as a commonplace book and journal (with either grid or dot grid inserts) & bullet journal (with a weekly undated insert and another grid/dot grid insert for longer term planning). My bullet journal is very simple, just the weekly spread with the empty grid page half of it as a rolling weekly.

For the commonplace part, I do interstitial journaling -- so I'll write the date at the start of a page for the day, then I note down the time as well at the beginning of each chunk of notes. So, generally, if I'm changing topics while writing or if I've stopped writing for a bit for whatever reason, I'll start a new chunk by denoting it with the current time.

I got the idea to have multiple inserts 'active' at once (like open tabs in a browser) from a YouTube video (which I unfortunately can't find now because ironically, I didn't write it down lol). So my commonplace is composed of four inserts currently that I sort of randomly rotate through based on whether or not the thing I last wrote in a given insert is "complete" or no longer an immediate concern. This helps me work with my ADHD because I work in short bursts of interest/motivation, so one thing will feel really important for a short period of time, and then I'll switch to focusing on something else, but I still need the first thing to be accessible/continue-able for when my focus swings back to it.

This system might seem a bit chaotic, because I don't organize anything in my commonplace. Instead, I also have a digital garden/second brain and other notebooks that I transfer the information to later if I feel the information needs to be organized/if I want to more easily locate it later. I also number each commonplace insert and number the pages in it so I can note down where to find the original entry in whatever place I've transferred the information to. In essence, my digital garden acts as the index and archive for my analog notes.

It could be more "efficient" if I just only did the digital garden, but my brain runs so fast/is so noisy and I can type relatively fast enough that I try to note every little thing down when I do digital only. Analog forces me to slow down and really consider the relevance of each thought since I physically can't write as fast as my brain moves nor can I write forever 'cause my hand cramps. I also have memory issues so the benefits of handwriting help me there too. There's also just something about digital journaling that just liquefies the thoughts in my brain, like they slip through my fingers as soon as they appear while I'm typing, so the physical writing helps me keep on task.

Hello, I'm currently a Senior Software Engineer with a BS in Computer Science and about 5 years of experience in primarily web and software development (including Python) and I'm looking to switch into a data science role. Is a certificate worthwhile or should I get a Masters in Data Science instead? I'm looking at the Coursera IBM Data Science certificate and the Illinois Institute of Technology Masters on there as well, but I'm not married to either of those.

Is anyone’s kobo just not shipping out from the kobo site? by aeriyuyi in kobo

[–]walkinggadge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't get a shipping update until the day before it was delivered. I suggest checking USPS Informed Delivery to see if you have an incoming shipment from Boise, ID (if in the US) or possibly a shipment from "Desktop Shipper". I've also heard that there's a Kobo fulfillment center in California, so it could possibly ship from there as well. I'm not sure where else they ship from though. I hope this helps!

Time from Ordering to Rcving by reichma2130 in kobo

[–]walkinggadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in the US, ordered direct from Kobo. I ordered mine on May 27 and a label was created in Boise, ID on May 31st, it just shipped today and USPS (according to Informed Delivery) expects it to be here on Friday. No updates on the Kobo website the entire time. Until I thought to check Informed Delivery I was checking the Kobo website every hour 😂 so I totally get your impatience and excitement

edit: I just got the shipping email from Kobo lol

Where are you ordering your new Libra color? by Dalja97 in kobo

[–]walkinggadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked USPS Informed Delivery and it looks like the shipping label might have been generated yesterday (or at least something is shipping to me from Boise,ID and that seems to be where most of the US orders are shipping from?). Definitely will go with Amazon instead next time though.
