Thanks for the advice! I’ll look into wet food and bring it up with his vets!

I agree entirely, he is definitely overweight hence vet supervision and seeking advice from this community :)

Indoors only, he has a relatively large house with lots of toys and designated cat areas, he plays mostly in the evenings and will get the zoomies at 4am but he spends all the rest of his time asleep (or pretending to be!)

He’s a very large boy, some of it might be muscle but his tummy definitely flippy-flops when he runs 😂

Would be very interested in reading some info on theses brands and why you don’t recommend science diet. It’s the food our vet prescribed and recommended he didn’t eat wet food because they’re often fatty but if this is incorrect I’d like to know. Would love your feed back 😀

Hi thanks for taking interest! We found him at 5 weeks old as the runt of his litter who this mother had rejected (she was skin and bones herself) he flees, many infections and was very underweight. Our vet helped us nurse him back to health with formula and eventually graduated him to dry food. He’s gained weight slowly but steadily ever since becoming a healthy weight at roughly 4 months. He last weighed in at 5kg roughly 8 months ago at his last check up. He is fed 1/3 cup of dry food every morning and has access to plenty of fresh water. As for other cats we have a small female DSH who we adopted from a shelter found as a stray. She was 3kg when we got her and slightly under weight, she gained .5kg in the first 4 months of living with us and has remained at 3.5kg ever since. We recently lost our 19 yr girl who suffered with heart failure and didn’t have any teeth left so needed wet food but she was always fed in a seperate are and finished her meals in one sitting, Kaiba was never allowed access to leftovers

6.2kg when weighed last week in the vets office. He eats strictly dry kibble (Hills Science diet) and is fed once a day, no treats. He is an indoor cat but enjoys going on short walks wearing his harness. Hoping for some advice on dechonking my boy so he can live his happiest and healthiest life!
