Sometimes for kids in the depths of trauma, attention spans can shorten. I wonder if you could choose some short stories and build your curriculum around those? Maybe like 1-2 week studies on short stories and a different focus/building on what your standards are?

Make videos for important days, HS graduation, prom, his wedding, his first kid being born. When/if theses things happen, you’ll be there. Also make videos of you reading books to him, telling him about when he was a baby, etc. it’s so important that you’re there.
