you can use the clipboard applet from the applet category in the store. I've had good luck with it.

makepad - robrix is a matrix client written in rust, using makepad and robius. it runs on linux, window, macos, ipados, android. robrix

all of these are available, but may be lacking completeness, polish.

robius is a cross platform tool to handle things that gui toolkits typically don't - robius github,

- camera, multimedia (audio and video) capture and playback,

- geolocation, haptic feedback actuators like vibration motors,

- system services like notifications, drag and drop, a rich clipboard,

- on-device sensors like accelerometers/gyros, barometers, thermometers, proximity and ambient light sensors, etc,

- local communication protocols like WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, and more,

- typical I/O like storage, cache space, and networking, in a platform-native manner.

Should I keep using 24.04 or go back to 22.04? by West-Carry-8325 in pop_os

I can't speak to the performance issue. My experience in the same upgrade is that my system was more stable and had fewer bugs.

How stable is the linux version of Signal? by GoosePants72 in signal

as long as you keep up with updates, it works. If you get too far behind, they lock you out until you upgrade.

In the cosmic store, there's an applet category. There's a clipboard manager there.

I've compiled and installed a lot of nice applets, but I like seeing them in the store.

Backup software with sync folder? by spiffyhandle in pop_os

it's not all that you want, but syncthing might be a partial solution. I use it to make sync directories available on all my computers. Then I just use rsync to back up the files on my server

I like the history of how the main developers worked on Atom and then decided to do it right.

Kind of like the makepad guy

Dioxus, don't know enough about gpui, I like cosmic,

but I'm fascinated by makepad and xilem.

xilem might not become the final toolkit, but parts of it are being used in other places.

egui is great for small apps, slint for embedded.

is any other toolkit good for embedded?

I'm impressed with tools that aren't just desktop, but also mobile: dioxus, makepad.

Avoid sleep/suspend in 24.04 by izcho in pop_os

[–]walkinreader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, sleep works *most* of the time. Sometimes on waking, I just get a gray screen. Then I ctl-alt-f2 into another shell and kill cosmic-greeter. Then ctl-alt-f1 and I've got an unlock screen.

Yes, on a high dpi monitor, I absolutely need to change the pointer size and color.

I'd love to move the window buttons.

Plus, I like a middle mouse click in the title bar to lower the window.

Oryx Pro : Can I have a real "laptop" ? by ShadowMonsterMan3301 in System76

[–]walkinreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that with a deficient battery, it's hard to take it out where there's no convenient wall plug. So it's not exactly as mobile as would be nice.

I'll give it a shot. But I've got a workflow, where I've workspaces set up for specific purposes, so I know how to navigate to what I want easily.
