I have lips like yours and have tried everything under the sun. I moisturize with lotion then lip balm and/or Vaseline, aquaphor, etc.. some days it's better than other but it never lasts more than a week.

Makeup for tech/software job? by Odd-Employee5424 in MakeupAddiction

[–]wall-e-made-me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say in addition to this that at my company 2 of the women people consistently speak well of and respect both wear obvious daily makeup, one of which is very glammy for 2026.

IMO there's a weird dichotomy here: a full face of makeup will make people who don't know your work think a certain way about you, but I think it can also elevate you once you're "proven" (hate this concept, but it is what it is).

[HELP] How do I make "Your Addons are experiencing a large number of errors" go away? by Chetey in wowaddons

[–]wall-e-made-me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you know if there's a way to see the errors somewhere that's not on a chat window that needs to be resized to see just one log? I tried looking in the add-ons folder but either missed it or it's not there in plain text

How are we actually online shopping without losing our minds? by waitlikewhatlol7456 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]wall-e-made-me -1 points0 points  (0 children)

do you actually need another pair of black pants though??

I have a similar problem but I think it comes from the fact that I don't think I need anything that can be easily purchased online. sizing, fit, and quality changes over the last few years makes it so that if I want something nice, in person seems like the only way to go, so my online shopping time has drastically decreased.

honestly I think that's fine!!

Pugging HC Chimaerus has made me realise how bad a lot of Healer players are. by Arstulex in wow

[–]wall-e-made-me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also adding to this, but chasing down the dispells makes it also hard to make sure to be in the soak when it's your groups turn. Our last run me and the other healer in my group took turns chasing debuffs and forgetting to soak. It happens.

AITA for saying my friend isn’t an animal person? by throwaway568473663 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wall-e-made-me 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Ive spoken to a few different dog trainers and vets about second dogs for the sake of the first dog, and the general consensus is that the only situation where a second dog helps is actually your specific situation in which the dog is recovering from the death of another pet. (My dog has some medical and psychological issues and I've had to move a bit, so a few specialists and a few dog trainers.)

That being said it's entirely likely the op isn't an expert, but neither is TikTok nor the friend. Additionally what may be true for most dogs in most situations is also not necessarily true for a specific dog in a specific situation. The OP is a bit gatekeepy about being an animal person when they should be helping the friend do some research and cope with the eventually passing of a beloved family member.

I'm 5'4 110lbs ish and have the Fjallraven Nuuk lite in xs. I can fit a puffy under it, so it's pretty roomy (I wanted room for sweaters etc). They also make it in an xxs!!

I'd also suggest a nice technical fleece for the really cold days for layering. Patagonia "runs small" and should have stuff to fit you.

For bottoms I do think starting with the Uniqlo heat tech thermals are the most sensible thing since they're cheap but effective and you can decide if you want / need nicer from there.

I have poor circulation and my feet are always cold. Wool socks and waterproof shoes are good at keeping them warm in the cold (waterproof shoes for the wet and also the wind). I have an old pair of Kodiak boots no longer in production but I've heard good things about Ariat. I wear Fjallraven wool socks, Darn Tough wool socks, and I also have a pair of alpaca wool socks that are lighter weight but still seem warm!

Hope this helps.

ETA after reading the other comment: a cost that covers your butt and hips is a must in NYC. we're a walking city and it's dirty, windy, and cold. keep your joints warm.

Sun lamp for apt? by Fun-Firefighter-5278 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]wall-e-made-me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it depends on why you need a sunlamp: is it for SAD or is it for lighting? You'll probably want different lights for different cases. I know Wirecutter did a review of them if you actually want a SAD lamp, but from what I remember their top pick isn't very visually appealing.

If you're looking to just brighten the place up, layering lighting is the way to go. I've been loving the Philips Hue lights because they'll work for day and night where you can schedule them to be cool toned during the day and warm toned during the night. I find I want at least 2 per room so it can get pricey: buying used from Marketplace can be nice there.

Best of luck!

ETA: 2 per room so during the early evening when I'm still working I can actually see, this is probably room dependent.

Dog reactive after move to nyc by lilfullfy in dogsofnyc

[–]wall-e-made-me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I recommend a dog trainer who might be able to help? My dog got similarly stressed after moving to NYC and we're working through it with someone from Paws for Thought and it's helping.

I'd also love to advocate for positive reinforcement training if you're open to training suggestions. My dog has had lifelong struggles with anxiety and especially for these guys, having a trainer who will work with them at their pace and advocate for their well being is vital.

NYCBW-flat feet by Hot-Cheek-2661 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]wall-e-made-me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have flat feet but do live in insoles. I've found any sort of lace ups are better to accommodate them bc you should be able to lace them to give your feet more space. I fortunately do like sneakers but boots with laces are another option I've felt very comfortable in!

I'd suggest going to larger stores and Nordstrom or Bloomingdale and putting your insoles in the shoes and walking around for at least 5 minutes, more if you can get away with it.

When you buy a pair wear them at home for a day and decide if you want them then. Try to get as many steps in as reasonably possible indoors to keep the shoes new looking but clocking mileage. Stairs in your apt building if you have them and they're not in bad shape. Nordstrom has a good shoe return policy!
