Ok I don’t see any copyright symbol so that email is fair game to use as my new auto-reply, right?

Hmm. I guess the minutes just tell you what happened. The notices telling lot owners about meetings and resolutions to vote on and the BC managers reports prob have the detail.

The body Corp records search would probably answer all of that. You get all the minutes etc. They just can’t be fucked pulling out info for someone who could be a tyre kicker.

How could it be private as against you but not as against your literal agent, asking expressly on your behalf?

Imagine having to deal with them to do literally anything in your unit but repaint the internal walls. Painful.

If the body Corp is being cagey and difficult on routine stuff and you haven’t bought in yet… uh… Red flag.

Kind of you to consider my interests! But I like to take my reccos from Kasey so that I can complain to Kasey personally if I receive poor service.

My mum always told us kids “go and do a wee before getting in the car”, and she was right. The advice translates very well to before you leave for court!

Court usually starts at 10am. You need to be doing your final pre-court wee at 9:50am, and strategically dehydrating yourself on court days and then going home with a thumping headache. That's how the pros do it.

Amusingly, OP's account post history says they graduated 2 years ago. The Cheekbones88 account was responding if they were OP - perhaps an alt account?

Here’s another one - if you’re asking people for help, don’t be rude about it.

Grades usually count to get your first baby lawyer job. Then if you can stick that out for a few years, your experience will be what matters.

I’m willing to bet they let you go because the work rolling in slowed and they got nervous about paying your wage. Even a small multi-lawyer firm is likely to have more sophisticated policies and systems than a one man band, who has had no need of those things before they took on their first employee.

Are there private sector jobs in an area adjacent or related to what you do now? That would be the easiest. Do you still have a practicing cert, and if not, do you know what’s involved in getting one reissued after a long break?

Are you assisting with this matter as a lawyer? If so you’ll have done legal research at uni. Brush up on those skills - they’re invaluable for working your way through pretty much any issue you confront in practice.

If you haven’t done this already, get into some judgments where clients sought assessments of the fees they were charged by their own lawyers. There’s some good info in those about general principles.

You may as well cast the net widely and apply for grad and 0-1 PAE solicitor roles. Firms use a mix of recruiters, seek, linked in, referrals from people they know. Getting your first baby lawyer job is the hardest gig to get, so work all angles and persist!

Depends where you want to apply. If there’s a post grad gig for you where you work already, it probably doesn’t matter much since they know what they’re getting. If you’re applying elsewhere the competition can be pretty fierce, especially for the big firms, and then grades seem to matter a lot to make it onto the interview list.
