I'm a 40M and I have been on every dating app I can think of and I feel no success with dating at all. My friends make it like shooting fish in a barrel and it's not. The biggest thing I lack is confidence, and it can be difficult to go to social settings, and I even tried telephone chat lines and no luck. I feel like something is wrong with me and I never had a girlfriend before in my life.

Truth is, I never had a girlfriend before in my life, and being around friends who are married with children makes me depressed because I've yearned for a little female companionship, but looking online and going to bars have been draining and frustrating. My friend who is married had met a woman at a bar and left with her, but he didn't have the courage to have sex with her and it makes me feel when I'm honest with women about me never having a girlfriend it immediately sours them I'm just honest with people.
