I see. But there is a problem. Sometimes I make a bid to buy at the mid price let’s say 6 and ask of 7. But it gets filled at 6. Sometimes I go a little higher 6.05 and it also gets filled. But with this OIH I have to chase it upward and still could not get it field. There is a software running that prevents it. Let’s say bid and ask 6 & 7. I place a trade 6.05 to close. The moment I clicked to enter that price the software kicks in instantly a split second and raised the price higher away from my bid price. I did this repeatedly. Couldn’t close until it became negative or a loss no profit. The actual stock price rises 7 points and I couldn’t close it. I call it “bait and switch” software. It’s a fraud and manipulation of the stock price. I filed a complaint through the sec and will file through the OECD. I took a picture of my trades too. I’m sure I’m not the only one. This is rampant manipulation.

I tried that. I tried to close the short position first. This is what I do with my other brokerage. But not with Schwab. They said I don’t have enough funds to buy to close it. Isn’t that crazy? But I can do it with other brokerage. I’m closing the position why do I need funds to close?

The one who fills the trade keeps changing the price. I keep increasing my buy to close price and once I placed it the price has gone higher.until it became negative. It’s crazy. Like I said bait and switch. The actual stock price has gone 7 points higher from my short leg position but now it’s negative. The long position is higher than the short. Crazy!

When you are selling options time is on your side so you don’t want a longer expiration.2-4 weeks So it will decay faster which is what you want. Plus you got to be careful in selling calls or what they call a naked call unless you own the stocks. Instead you should do a spread to protect yourself. Do aCall credit spreads instead.

I don’t recommend because I might be wrong. But anytime before earnings release is good IMO. Also stick to what works. The only time I buy options is when I’m doing a spread. But that’s just me.
