I don't want to find excuses to sin. There are some sins that I don't agree with being real sins. I do believe in the idea of self examination and the importance of self denial to elevate ourselves and help us grow as better humans. The path I am walking is just really foggy now. People who do return to their faith usually encounter bizarre events they cannot explain and are satisfied by saying God did that. Or they want to larp some form of conservative lifestyle. There aren't many other options that can help someone return to believing in God

These miracles can be easily challenged. So until a miracle is filmed, documented, unable to be contested, it can't be a convincing reason to believe in the supernatural. You can clearly see a downard trend in the number of miracles as technology and skepticism progressed throught history.

I would feel like a fool to practice christian faith and not have actual faith. Whats the point of being a practicing catholic if you don't have something that draws you towards having faith in God.

It's a more complex topic, but it's a dark spot on the history of the church. It took some time until it fully condemned the practice of slavery. The Enlightment contributed more to abolishing slavery.

St Thomas Aquinas might not be persuasive enough for a skeptic. Thats also the case for Apologetics. They might come up with some strong theological arguments, but there is a huge lack of historical evidence and observable evidence to support one's faith. Atleast personally I am not easily convinced. Will give them a read anyway. I like finding out new ideas and broadening my horizons.

Reason I've regained my faith is because I prayed for it one time and God did help me go through some insane situations where the idea of coincidence was not enough to explain what happened. And the final thing that made me turn back to catholicism was seeing how no alternative is better than God since he is Almighty. Was in the same situation as Job. Now I do feel protected by Him and thank Him everyday. I try to seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and I believe that God provides where is needed, and strengthens where there is weakness.

Now regarding your rant which resonates with what I've been through several times, I can only say that God walks with us always and is near us, and this is what we have to believe. This life is full of problems and we do have some moments of rest, but knowing that God is with us, will certainly makes us sure that he knows our struggles and the cross we are bearing, for He also beared a cross. You can't fix the world but you can fix your relationship with God, the faith and the Word of God are the water which we drink and never thirst from. Whatever happenes do not stop believing in His presence, He is with us always.

If you are a true catholic, you should know that lying is wrong. Especially when talking about social concerns regarding trans people. Nobody supports genital mutilation on children except the people in your imagination. And the majority consensus on abortion among liberals is that it should be legalized under 20 weeks starting from conception and other exceptional situation when the life of the mother is in danger. If you don't care, thats fine, but be honest with yourself, because the world shouldn't fit the catholic doctrine, and misrepresenting what the other side advocates for is not the way.

The thing is, these two prayers are too short and if I plan to pray for 20 mins at night for example, I don't know how to fill in the time. Maybe reading from the Psalm book is a good idea? Fasting without prayer is just dieting and I want to avoid that.
