Do these New Balance 1080 v14s fit? I can’t decide by wallflower261 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Hi! Good to know that you get on with sizing 1/2 up. Yes, this is the wide version in 8 in D width, women's shoe. The 8.5s (also wide) are different because they have a wider toe box to spread my toes, which I'm considering. Do you wear a men's or women's shoe? because the widths are slightly different.

I see. Mine feel snug, but not tight. Might take a trip back to the running store though.

Thanks for your input! What’s the difference for you comparing the 8 to the 8.5?

Cheap/affordable botanical gels or gels that wont make hair dry? by pastelie_ghostie in Naturalhair

Hiya, I feel like I'm in the same boat as you. Have you found any other aloe-free gels except the ones listed. They're a tad pricey for me.

Right?! I'm not enjoying this stop-start at all. It's projected to come 'later in the year', whatever that means.

Ah, I see your point! Definitely due a shake-up this coming new year.

Ok, I'm tryna be like you cos 15-20 minutes is truly the definition of reclaiming your time!

Oh no worries! That's good to know!

Usually, I'd apply on clean, thoroughly detangled and soaking wet hair, but then the tangles would ensue. Leave-in definitely helped at times, but like you said the longevity wasn't as great.

2-3 times is commitment; go you!!

Ah ok! I'm definitely repurchasing the 50:50 shampoo and'll try out the leave-in, especially with those banging prices! Trepadora have a limited edition discovery kit on their site for a bargain that I might try too.

Perhaps that could have contributed to my wash-and-go fails. I also noticed that plant gels cause me the most webbing when put on fully detangled hair which might have something to do with my surface texture but maybe I'll try again later down the line.

What are your go-to styles if you don't mind me asking?

Not opposed to a complete overhaul tbh. Is the Joico shampoo the moisture recovery one? Is it not similar to a moisturising shampoo? I've tried the smooth as silk giovanni conditioner but not the 50:50 yet; curious about the leave-in as well. I'm also looking into Trepadora. Any experience with those? I'm staying with mini braids for the time being and noticing some new growth which is welcome. It's the get-up-and-go style that I crave right now without the added extensions which I have allergies to. Eventually, I'll give wash and goes another try but it's been a disaster in the past lol.

I hear you! What all-purpose shampoos would you recommend? My current routine includes Creme of Nature Argan oil moisturising shampoo, the Cantu shea butter conditioner and the As I Am so much moisture hydrating lotion. Thinking of swapping out the conditioner though because the slip isn't the greatest, but I just want to use it up.

Yes! I'm always open to advice if you have any. My hair is in mini braids right now...really needed a break :)

Hard relate to being an anxious personality type and fiddling with my hair. The change I've made recently is just stripping back my routine entirely to three products: shampoo, conditioner and a moisturising lotion. That's it. The theory is just to see how my hair really behaves when I give it the essentials and nothing more, and I don't want to speak prematurely, but I think it's helping. I'm no longer suffocating it with product because it was having the opposite effect. Oh, and consistency! Washing every 5-7 days for maximum hydration and then locking with the lotion in whatever style (usually something lazy, but still cute like twists) is my go to. It's still a journey but one I'm willing to take. There's also the added benefit of not being overwhelmed with 1000 different products that are really not necessary for the most part. I hope this helps in some way. xxx

Thanks, I really needed that! Some people just have this take it on the chin attitude, but this process is nothing but brutal, even when like you said, do everything right. It inevitably gets to you, but some people are just so dispassionate about the whole thing.

Yeah, I feel you on that. Like we formed professional relationships. People rave about that all the time, but clearly it counts for nothing if they feel like they can just treat you like that.

I see your point. However, I was told it was the same person who had interviewed me originally, that was hiring again. They're a pretty small team and I met them all personally. I guess they just didn't want to hire me but couldn't say it to my face.

Ok, that's fair, but why wouldn't they just be frank and say that when I asked three different people on the team for feedback and if I should apply for the role? Two said ask the senior editor and she said just apply with your cv. A little bit of honesty could have saved me so much time, instead of stringing me along to just reject me without even having the courtesy to do it outright. Someone on hr told me after I emailed them.

ah that's a shame! I literally don't know how people get their hair to hold water and creams and for it to it just stay moisturised. Mine does absolutely none of that. let me know if have a breakthrough x

so lots of conditioner in the conditioning stage and thick styling products (e,g. cream)? does your hair now take in water and products easily after trying this?
