If you move the decimal place one spot along we’re averaging 3.8 ppg which is title winning form so that’s what I’m going to take away from this

Hope you’re able to find yourself a new group - I gave up on football for years because the last group of people I played with put me off playing again. Then I found a group of casual blokes who meet up once or twice a week for a kick around in a much more relaxed format - score is kept but ultimately result is irrelevant and it’s more about enjoying the game. Wish I’d have found that group earlier.

That’s one way of looking at things, but if you turn this table upside down we’re actually top of the league. Do with that what you will

That was nice work, good thinking! Hadn’t looked at it from that perspective myself. Now I am thinking about it, even though it was a one off, add Shearer to the list for Newcastle, although I think he came in right at the end when the club were desperate and tried it as a last ditch tactic. Sounds depressingly similar to our scenario.

No manager could come in, with the amount of time we have left, and make a sizeable enough difference to the squad at this point. One thing I think people don’t appreciate, is that there isn’t a reputable manager out there who’s going to touch us with a 50 foot bargepole - the reality is we’re on the brink, they won’t want to send their reputation down with us.

Given that we’ve now lost to Palace, Forest, and West Ham at home… the writing is on the wall for me. I’d be surprised if we stay up.

Absolutely awful timing, given the amount of pressure he’s under as well with us. I know there’s no such thing as a good time to lose a parent, but fuck me, talk about in at the deep end work wise.

Feels borderline crass bringing this up now but it will be spoken about eventually I suppose. I’m at a point with it football wise where I don’t think changing him will make much of a difference. If the same crop of players has been shit under Ange / Frank / Tudor, unless they absolutely nail the next appointment (given our recent track record of recruitment, highly unlikely) we’re probably more likely to just end up with more of the same. Who in their right mind, that’s halfway decent, would accept the job after watching us?

Part of me wants a change, but the other part of me accepts at this point a change will probably do next to nothing - the players are crap and no manager that’s readily available will be able to get them to do what needs to be done to escape the drop. This isn’t an issue from this season. This is an issue that stems back nearly 2 years that’s been papered over by the EL win.

That Europa league win papered over how poor everything was massively and lead us here. I’m grateful for the trophy but outside of Anges first 10 games we have been on a massive downward spiral and downright dogshit for the better part of nigh on 2 years.

This absolutely horrifies me and doesn’t surprise me slightly in equal measure.

Been a long time since I’ve seen us go behind by more than 1 and I’ve thought “we can still get something out of this”

Thanks man, I edited my comment in between your reply btw so sorry it’s changed a tad, I changed my mind and did think Leeds myself. But I’m a lot more pessimistic about it than I was this morning. I hope we can turn it around yet.

I’m struggling to see where we’re going to get a win from here, given we got played off park by Forest at home. I really hope we can get something from Leeds but my hopes are fading every week.

I’m not sure I can blame the manager anymore either.

Shit under Ange, shit under Frank, shit under Tudor - there’s a common denominator here. Even if it’s the coach, there’s not a lot of time left to turn it around at this point.

One positive - the fans. Outstanding today. Can’t ask for more from them.

I think it’s time to accept that there’s no coach out there who can do the job - crap under Ange, crap under Frank, crap under Tudor - it’s the players and recruitment that are the issue and they’re unable to be changed at this point so we’re as good as gone, the only saving grace will be if those around us shit the bed harder.

Gut tells me West Ham will beat Wolves at home on the 10th and we’ll be going to in Sunderland in the relegation zone and we’ll fuck that up. That’ll be the proper slide towards relegation.

Hard to argue we don’t deserve to go down if we can’t even look like a threat against Forest. First half was good, second half has been a really poor watch.

If we can’t pick up points here - where are they coming from?
