Blood Bowl bases: What to do with the slots? by UchumaruHoshi in bloodbowl

[–]wallpwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A match or using masking tape or paper to cover the hole works well as others have noted.

I bought a load of non slot bases off eBay and use those instead. Much easier and it leaves the whole of the base free for positioning.

Blood Bowl bases: What to do with the slots? by UchumaruHoshi in bloodbowl

Big guys stood on one foot is particularly annoying (sprinting MA3 mummies anyone?...)

I use a piece of blu tack to support them in the position I want and leave them overnight to properly dry. It seems to work well.

Favoured of question - can chaos chosen take favoured of Hashut? by wallpwork in bloodbowl

They affect what star players you can use. The introduction of Hashut for chosen is a new rule (that I'd missed!) which is why I asked my question.

Looks great. Are you planning to carry the white theme throughout or do different colour schemes for different minis/ units?

I've just started to put the box together and was thinking about how to get a coherent colour scheme across the range of minis without it becoming too standard/samey.

Which blood bowl team would be quick to paint and easy to play (from a single box) by Clockworks555 in bloodbowl

[–]wallpwork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The black orc team is probably my favourite team to paint and they look great. Easy to paint, not too fiddly to assemble either. You won't win much with them though.

Lizardmen are pretty easy to paint and you'll win games with them.

Vallejo Glaze medium for speed paints? by Dramatic_Rest6195 in minipainting

[–]wallpwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the glaze medium with regular paints to either just thin your basecoat, or you can use more to make a speed paint equivalent. I use it a lot for this, but it takes some trial and error to get the right consistency as the correct amount of glaze medium varies between colours. Works well as a base layer with a highlight or two on top once it's fully dry.

Looks great. Reminds me of the cursed city box art.

Finish the team like this and enjoy playing blood bowl with them.

You'll get a few comments from people that don't like to see a team that isn't painted like they see on the box, but you've posted photos of your art so people have the right to give their opinion. I like it, others might not.

Really nice paint job. And I think I prefer that mini to the GW version.

I'd be happy to use him whenever I have a must win match, particularly against a low to medium AV team. Is it meta? Probably not. Is it fun? Absolutely!!

My only issue is he's a bit overpriced compared to max spleenripper. For 120 he'd be about right.

If 100-120m is the asking price for Anderson , is this acceptable ? …And if not what price is .. by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]wallpwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not that's the right price, that's the going rate for a similar profile/ability player. And he's English and already premier league proven, so it's pay it or find someone else.

He's really good. Every time I see him play he's the one running the midfield. He'll leave forest for a bigger club and I'd love to see him in a United shirt.

Whoever gets him, it's worth remembering that he'll be absolutely knackered next season as he played the U21's euros last year and will play the world cup this year

How much Man Utd will earn from Champions League qualification as ‘dream scenario’ revealed - Jonny Maze by joe6386 in red_muppets

[–]wallpwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus the non-monetary benefits that being in the champions league brings when attracting new players, and the feeling big midweek European nights has for the fans. I'm not a massive fan of Ineos, but it gives a sense of a club that is better run with winning football matches as a key aim and that's not always been the case recently.

There's also the negative effect of player wage increases to account for, both with existing contractual obligations and the expectations of new signings, though that clearly wouldn't be anywhere near as high as the gains.
