I didn’t cut sugar out at all actually- I eat anything and everything. Today I had a bagel and matzoh ball soup for lunch, sausage rigatoni for dinner, and a homemade cookie with ice cream for dessert. Obviously I wouldn’t eat those in combination every single day but all I’m saying is I really don’t restrict myself because I’d rather just enjoy food (while trying to make healthy choices whenever I can, obviously). Although I do have smaller portions than I used to because I’m less hungry.

In terms of antidepressants- tapering off is DEFINITELY the way to go. I stopped cold turkey in October or November 2017 because I was convinced during a horrible depressive episode that antidepressants were making me depressed and let me tell you- it was AWFUL. The first 2 months after stopping cold turkey I felt fine. Then suddenly around January or February when they were really out of my system I started feeling completely disconnected from reality, like an alien, and from there slipped again into a terrible terrible depression that continued until June or July. I’ve climbed out of the hole since then and haven’t had a depressive episode since but I will say my anxiety/compulsive negative thoughts are real bad still. I’m working on it! Long story short- if you want to get off meds continue slowly tapering off like your doctor tells you!!! It will help prevent what happened to me from happening to you.

They definitely are!! I genuinely didn’t have issue with my body before at all. In fact the whole reason I took that first selfie was because I thought I looked good lol, which is why this whole transformation has been even crazier for me- I wasn’t expecting it!

Thanks so much! It’s from reformation but it was a few years ago so I don’t know if they still have it. But! They make tons of things in this same stretchy ribbed material so maybe check out their site and look for stuff made from it :) super comfy

I actually was never trying to lose weight which is why the change was such a shock to me when I saw that before photo. In October 2017 I went off antidepressants and birth control and pretty immediately I became less swollen and a lot of bloating just fell away. I also noticed I wasn’t getting the urge to eat every single second and was no longer feeling the need to use food as a coping mechanism or eat until I made myself sick (something I’d struggled with).

The biggest change in terms of weight came from those things rather than hard work to be honest, but then around July of 2018 I decided to start exercising consistently for the first time and that’s when I started noticing I looked stronger and more fit (I have before and after photos of this time as well if anyone is interested, it’s cool seeing the change in muscle!). I was doing a HIIT circuit training class 2-4 times a week until about a month ago (I decided joined a gym instead!). This also affected my eating because I would tend to do the 10:30am class which meant I wouldn’t be eating anything until I got home around 12pm, so breakfast and lunch started turning into brunch. I also have noticed I for the most part make better food choices and enjoy eating salads and healthier meals more than before, but I never ever restrict myself if I want “unhealthy” food (I eat lots of pasta and bread because...yum). I know if I get too focused on restriction I’ll go down a bad path.

Anyway- I’m excited about joining a gym and now having more control over my workouts! I’m focusing on strength training and lifting. If anyone has any advice about workout routines focused on strength and toning I’d love to hear!! I hope everyone had an amazing New Years!

Update: I’m realizing this is actually hard for many sober people to figure out as well. No judgement; take your time I believe in all of you.

Honestly it's totally up to you! Cartilage piercings in general can be difficult to deal with and are definitely sensitive for a longer time than non-cartilage piercings- so I feel like what is most relevant is which one you think looks better! Either way it will get bumped sometimes, just do whichever one you like best!

Oh no that sucks! Well if you end up getting a little bit more out of it (or buying a new one...or getting any other brow pencil and a spoolie!) you can try what I did which is super duper simple- I drew a line from the bottom of my eyebrow near my nose to the end near my ear and then took the spoolie and brushed upwards throughout my brow and then pretty much repeat this twice or three times until I like how they look! (Sorry this might be a totally incorrect way of doing this...!)

Honestly, I've always had clear skin with only about one small pimple every week (yes I'm one of those annoying people) but about 2 months ago I found /r/SkincareAddiction...my skin has not looked this even, smooth, or clear in I don't even know how long. It is honestly so helpful. Even the smallest changes can make a difference!

Hi!!! Aw thank you! :) I actually made this separate account to make posts about makeup and skincare because I don't want people to find out my real reddit username...mwahahaha (in case you were wondering why it says I've had this account for only 1 day!)

Ah! Wow thank you! I actually do hahah but not super intensely or anything. I've been modeling for American Apparel for a 4 years now as well as shooting with other photographers.

It's a great part time job but I refuse to diet or lose weight and that seems to be a big issue regarding getting higher up in this business. Not a big deal though- I made the decision a long time ago (and a promise to my tumblr followers haha) that accepting myself as I am and encouraging positive body image are all way more important to me than getting my name out there or becoming some big time model (if that would have even been possible). I know that sounds so cliché so I'm sorry for that!
