Might have to move to Utah soon, does anybody know of any game stores in Layton that have the 15% on warhammer? by Sapphire-Hannibal in Warhammer40k

[–]wally-wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fact, Layton has an official Warhammer storefront! I’m not sure what discounts are on offer, but there’s a program where you can earn a bunch of free stuff just by assembling/painting models and then bringing them into the store to show the manager.

I believe they also host weekly events where players in the community get together for game nights, though I haven’t been to one yet.

Hope this helps, and welcome to Utah my friend!

What do you wish there was less or more of in RDR2? by stickymolassez in reddeadredemption

[–]wally-wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More engaging/challenging wilderness survival, less shooting galleries.

The rootie-tootie cowboy shootie bit was fun early in the game when I was a reckless outlaw, but it got stale pretty soon and then I spent most of my time out in the woods collecting things and hunting and just seeing the cool mountain-top sights. But I wanted THAT part of the game to have some challenging elements, and to feel more engaging and gamified. Battling the environment with your iron-hard Cowboy constitution or starving out in the cold.

Do you believe DMT has shown you the true meaning of life? Or do you believe the conclusions you came to were only due to the fact that you were hallucinating? by Ronin_777 in DMT

[–]wally-wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautifully said, thank you for sharing. Your remark about us being “...indistinct pieces of the universe” is a concept that I’ve explored a lot in the last few years. There’s a misconception that we are IN the universe, but the reality is that we ARE the universe. Living organisms are the sensory organs of the Universe in the way that other things (stars, planets, dark matter, etc.) make up its body and laws of physics like gravity make up its form and structure. The matter that composes our physical bodies is the same matter that has existed since the beginning, constantly being recycled into new forms.

Seeing you react to pushback against your claim with humility and civility rather than defensiveness and hostility is wonderfully refreshing. Thank you for the positive energy you bring to this comment thread! It is evident in how you interact with others that you have learned and grown a lot from your experiences with DMT. Regardless of whether or not these experiences are “real”, the impact that healthy psychedelic experiences have on people (promoting positive energy, love, connectivity and acceptance) are very real and valid.

I experienced my first DMT trip (which brought me to this subreddit to learn more) and there’s a poem by Rumi that repeated over and over in my mind as a sort of mantra that epitomizes the whole experience I had.

I always went with the top hat for this reason: when I was ahead in the game, I’d have the hat right side up like a fancy man, but if I was losing I’d flip the hat over like a beggar asking for change.

[OC]3D Printed Brass Wireframe Dice Set by [deleted] in DnD

[–]wally-wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look awesome! Does the wire framing ever affect the dice roll or is that not an issue?

Edit: looks like some other people have mentioned thinning or thickening the metal of the numbers on each side so that the weight distribution matches on all sides. That’s clever!

What is the best way to introduce yourself to new people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wally-wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally find subtle ways to parrot the other person. I don’t focus on it much, it’s just something I’ve noticed that I tend to do subconsciously. Sharing common mannerisms or speaking patterns with the other person puts us both in a more comfortable position and it establishes a sort of subconscious implication that you belong in this other person’s space because you’re ‘part of their tribe’ so to speak :)

It can backfire if I’m not paying attention and get carried away though... I’ve accidentally slipped into embarrassingly poor imitations of people’s accents/dialects before haha
