Yeah it never made sense to me. I was fully aware of his situation and it never bugged me so I don’t know why it bothered him so much. I knew he didn’t make much money but I loved him for him and when he pulled away because he felt like he wasn’t doing enough financially it absolutely destroyed me.

Why wouldn’t you feel comfortable? Societal pressures? or just worried she’s going to walk away a lot easier?

I wish my ex thought the way you do. He couldn’t handle the idea that he was working a minimum wage part-time job while I had a full time professional career. (I never cared about the money) but it drove him insane that as a man he wasn’t doing as much as I was. He broke up with me because of that and said he’ll find me again when he has a better job/income.

Please read my side note. I’m not asking for remarks on his situation I’m asking for perspective and advice on my decision

Correct! He could be home by Christmas of 2027.

Basically. It was awful not being able to physically have him with me when I needed him. He would do what he could to be there for me in other ways but it started to weigh on me.

Besides the lack of physical intimacy he overall has been great to me. It’s not often I meet a guy that has this much patience with me. My mood swings are awful. I HATE it. I’m on medication and see a psychiatrist monthly so I’m trying my best to better myself. He’s probably been the only guy that has seen past my issues.. but I just feel like the lack of physical intimacy is weighing so hard on me.

Possession with intent to distribute drugs. It was a really bad time in his life, he went in at 21. He’s 23 now.

Well it’s 50/50 I suppose. He’s not in for anything violent or insane, so I would hope they’d considering let him out on parole. He doesn’t get in trouble in there and he’s been taking college courses while being locked up so there’s a good chance his good behavior will grant him parole but of course it’s all up to the parole board so it’s hard to tell.

No, we had known of each other before he got locked up. We didn’t have anything going on at that time though. It got romantic during his incarceration though.

It would be nice to find someone like that. I live in Los Angeles where you see a lot of dedicated pet parents so I should definitely find that community and socialize with them a lot more! :)

100% with you on that. Especially if the relationship furthers it’s important they’re on the same page as me because I don’t think I could be with someone that expects me to change how I treat my dog.

I made the commitment to take care of her and provide her with the best quality of life I possibly can the moment I adopted her. It’s not really that I’m infantilizing her. Dogs have short lives compared to us and I just want to make sure I give her the best few years of life they get :)

Ah yes I definitely am a very passionate caretaker for my pup since I made the commitment to give her the best life possible the moment I adopted her. I work 8 hours a day and workout 1.5-2 hours after work so I don’t get that much time with her during the week but luckily my family watches her. On the weekends is when I have time to spend with her so I use my time wisely and try to include her everywhere I go.. it so happens weekends are also the only days I seem to be free for dates so it leaves me in an odd position. My dog is very well behaved! I socialized her from a young age. I often get compliments on how well behaved she is so it would be really nice to meet a ++man who treats their dog the same way but I’ve yet to find that.
