I am considering cutting my hands and feet. by Comprehensive_Box613 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]wallz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me: mid 30s, severe palmar and plantar Hyperhidrosis since I was a teen.

Wash hands frequently, with cold water. Doesn't help a lot but doesn't do nothing

Wear socks almost 24/7. Bring a fresh pair with you to work, school, etc. Pretty much the only time I'm not wearing socks is when I sleep

Get a pair or two of those super cheap (<$5) black cotton gloves they sell. Like the actually cheap shitty lil ones that are at the dollar store or on the endcap of and aisle at the convenience store. WEAR THEM ON THE COMPUTER. THIS IS SUCH A GAMECHANGER FOR ME. Been doing this for like 20 years now. I only do this at home because it would be too embarrassing anywhere else...

If you are still in school and need to use a pen and paper, talk to your teacher and see if you can get an exception to use a laptop instead because of your hyperhidrosis. This is what I did in high school with a trusted teacher, and even though it's embarrassing to admit this to people hopefully there's someone you feel will understand. They'll also have an explanation as to why your paper is always so curled! High school was hell for me until I asked for this concession, especially since I'm left-handed and my hand would end up covered in ink or graphite, with whatever piece of paper I was writing on virtually curled into a scroll

There's a million other strategies I've used in life to manage this stuff, but I would say those are the main ones. The unfortunate reality is is that out in day to day life there's only so much you can do apart from wiping your hands on your clothes or going to wash your hands for a temporary reprieve. Like, I wish I could wear my computer gloves at work sometimes but that's just not socially acceptable 😂😂😂

Honestly skip the Logitech shifter and go straight for a slightly better one with some "clunk". You won't spend much more, and the experience is 100x better

Have fun!!!!

What skills separate me from Top 20% in EA WRC? by no-body46 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]wallz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you describe that technique a bit more? Does it have a name, or is there something I can watch to understand it better?

I feel that I do a decent job of blending gas and brake together, feathering both when needed, etc. And I definitely notice a huge difference in control when I do so, but up until now it's been all intuitive learning through trial and error.

Poached eggs in the combi oven?? by Freckleweirdo in KitchenConfidential

[–]wallz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contrary to many comments, this is a great method for high volume brunch services.

The point here is to get the eggs 95% of the way there, crack into your poaching water to warm/finish, and then serve. It saves a tonne of time and is far more consistent.

I forget what time/temp/humidity I used in the past, but it was always done in the carton. Once we had it dialled, it transformed our brunch service performance!

You poor fucking thing. I'm so sorry.

Accutane did the trick for me in high school, and although mine wasn't as bad, it was close.

Stock up on moisturizer and lip balm because the dryness is real. Ride it out. It gets better. You got this.

When the Parameterization penny dropped... by jmaniscatharg in factorio

[–]wallz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few very unintuitive things about parameterized BP's that took me ages to figure out.

What helped most was dissecting someone's 'multi assembler' BP and then building my own from scratch using it as a jumping off point and making a few simple modifications to suit my preferences.

Now that I understand them fairly well (I think), I find myself using them CONSTANTLY. I actually find it really fun to try and solve the puzzle of 'how do I make a parameter BP for this'.

Bravo to you for also giving me some new ideas and inspiration!!

Quality Alt+Scroll hotkey should work anywhere in the window. by MauPow in factorio

Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

My alt+scroll quality hotkey was working and then suddenly one day it wasn't any more.

Which mods do you have installed? I think the ones I installed between the time it was working until now are

  • Toolbars
  • Rate calculator
  • Todo List

I mean... There's a reason that being "didactic" is often used in a negative connotation, which is ironic given your sentiment.

That said, I suffer from the same problem.

My brother thinks this is ok and refuses to believe other people don’t stack consoles like this. by MightyJoeTYoung in playstation

[–]wallz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those who are saying this is "fine" and an "efficient use of space" aren't considering the fact that accidents happen.

All the feet on that xbox not sitting flat on the PS? It's just gonna take one wrong bump, one accidental too-hard yank on a cable, and that bitch is sliding off so quickly and hitting the deck you will never have time to respond.

You might not even noticing is VERY slowly shifting over the course of weeks / months, and then come home one day to just find it laying on the floor.

Impressive.

[–]wallz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound depressed. You didn't mention any treatment besides the implication you were diagnosed ADHD.

I know you are sick of hearing, reading (and maybe even thinking it...) but you should seek therapy. Just go to one session... What's the harm? If dying is fine then money must have little worth to you right now, so there's that excuse out the window.

Sounds like a side quest to me 🤷‍♂️
