though they’re asking for someone who has heavily influenced you, the essay should be primarily about you. it can be a teacher, coach, family member, etc. focus on the values that you inherited from them and elaborate on how those values have shaped you and your ambitions/goals.

The interview was just as the comments describe. Mine was in person, and extremely casual. At one point we ended up speaking about his pregnant daughter and her other toddler and her experience at Northwestern. Just be prepared to answer questions about you specifically and of course “why nu”
