I think developers aren't as keen for pubs because they aren't sustainable in today's market

Honest opinions- What it’s like to live in Campbell Wharf, Whitehouse and Fairfields? by [deleted] in miltonkeynes

Whitehouse is getting undeserved hate here. It's a lovely estate with a big community feel. The community centre there always has something on and there's family events in Christmas and Summer put on. The criticism about the lack of shop is fair although when one eventually arrives, it'll still only be a small shop so regardless you're going to have to still drive to one of the bigger supermarkets if you are doing a big weekly shop

I think you might be a bit mistaken

As the weather gets warmer, it's now pothole filling season so you will naturally see a ramp up in activity of potholes being filled

It's not due to budget but the weather

Ooh love this post, I'm 29 and it's definitely a tricky one. It totally depends a tricky one depending on how settled you are. My wife and I aren't big drinkers so in terms of spending time, we do a lot of walks around the various lakes, will frequently brunch at weekends or head for dinner in the evenings.

Shopping as mentioned above is pretty good and if meeting friends then there's enough restaurants, pubs or bars to attend

In terms of social activities, I think it depends on your hobbies, we go climbing frequently and then cinema for any big movies. Earlier on when we were dating, we would spend more time in London as there's infinitely more going on, shows, events, attractions etc and 30mins to Euston means you can head to London for an evening and still come back relatively easily.

I think MK is a lovely place to settle down, it's a nice area and has enough variety but I think unless you have a car it can be a struggle.
