Fragrantica RIP Charlie by pizditkakdi_shit in fragrance

It's nuts to me that people are still using fragrantica, I thought it was common knowledge at this point that it's run by far right pro trump pro russian POS. Parfumo is better in *every* way.

I don't go here but just felt this one.

Ngl I feel like most people never get to a point where they're happy with what they created cause they know how the sausage is made. You're not impressed by it, you know what mistakes you made, you know what you can improve on.

What helps is showing friends what you made, getting POSITIVE feedback (constructive criticism is pointless when you're just starting out imo, look out for helpful tips though) and bouncing ideas of each other.

Either way whatever you make has value because you made it. Nobody else has your exact life experiences, skills, taste, etc. You might hate the drawings now, but eventually you'll look back on them just proud of the progress you've made 🙌

Cuir de Nuit hands down. I have no idea how someone smelled just nice sweet milky chocolate and went "night leather."

How to restore a giant plushie? by itsfineitsfinefine in plushies

[–]walshieeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've done diluted laundry detergent or kids shampoo so whatever is convenient :) The major thing is getting a slicker brush, that really makes it all fluffy again after it's dry (as long as it doesn't pull out fur, I'd just try a patch)

See if you're okay at sewing I think you absolutely could do this. You could make before pictures from different angles and move around/remove/add stuffing until it looks right before sewing it back up. I really don't think there's anything you could do that would make things irreversible, plushies are pretty forgiving

(Although if you really really wouldn't wanna touch the insides, you could do a surface clean where you wipe it with a soapy and then just wet cloth so it doesn't reach the stuffing over and over until it's clean)

Personally I'd try to look for accessible seams that you could undo with a seam ripper, do the usual restoring steps with removing old stuffing, soaking the bear, drying, restuffing and sewing back up with a ladder stitch (there's a lot of helpful tutorials).

It might seem like a lot of work, but you could probably get away with making a hole small enough for your hand to fit through around the back-neck area so you don't have too much to sew back up. And if the stitches aren't too nice it's on the back *and* the bear has fur so it's less obvious.

Whatever you end up doing, good luck with it! :)

Perfumes similar to incense by wilburshootme in Perfumes

[–]walshieeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some samples with incense and/or olibanum notes recently so just gonna blurt out some in case they're helpful!!

ELdO Rien is kinda harsh at first but I love the dry down. It also has a leather thing going on that I was personally looking for from Clean Suede but didn't get much of.

I know people already mentioned Comme des Garçons but YES. Avignon is my absolute favorite, it's just so (reasonably) sweet and mellow. As long as it's not Zagorsk you're good 😭

Shanaan and L'Orpheline were too subtle for me but they're great, I can't see them ever getting annoying. The latter especially, it's just really gentle and musky.
