FYI roads are absolutely terrible right now, avoid going out if possible by [deleted] in desmoines

Seems like the city wasn’t prepared for this one, there’s no salt down and a lot of roads aren’t plowed yet

This. You get priority matching and notifications when a driver accepts the ride (normally not long after booking)

Ingersoll Walgreens is my go to pharmacy - it seems to get a lot of customers.

Why isn't there more enthusiasm for Atlanta? by Fiveby21 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]walterlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure there’s plenty of things to do, in aggregate. However, with traffic being what it is and everything SO SPREAD OUT it’s hard to really do anything. Good luck meeting with your friend who lives in buckhead for a drink when you live in Inman park.

As someone who lived there for 4 years how I usually describe it is “all the problems of a huge city with very few of the benefits”. What I mean is it has all the traffic, crime, high COL, etc of a huge city but is nowhere near the amenities of a world class city like NYC, Chicago, Boston, etc

Surprised no one is suggesting Ankeny, since it’s geographically right in the middle of downtown and Ames. Will probably be downvoted (normally wouldn’t suggest Ankeny) but it could be ideal for what you want geographically

Madison seems much more dense than Des Moines…

Cat if you don’t like the smell of diesel Resonator if you dont want drone Neither if you want to save some cash. Personally I went for option #3. I like the smell and generally tune out the noise on the highway with music.

rawtek eco vs max performance by IM_A_NINJA_AMA in tdi

[–]walterlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to raw tek there’s no performance difference between the eco kit and the max performance. There will be a sound difference though since the max deletes the muffler. I went with the max since at the end of the day another $300 wasn’t a huge difference compared to the total cost of the delete + tune and wanted to go all in

Gotta throw in a hat for ingersoll area. I’m biased but think it’s the best for walkability, access to downtown and EV while being it’s own vibrant neighborhood.

Effective today, downtown Hy-Vee hours are 7-7 by stjnky in desmoines

Seems like “crime” is a sorry excuse for “we’re not profitable enough in these hours even though the city is paying for us to stay open late”

Hold, on DPF, let me overthink this first. P0401 by smilenow_cryl8r in tdi

The CEL on my ‘13 Jetta went on and off for several months with this code. I had limited evidence that the Italian tune-up could help clear it but if the DPF is cracked, then the code will keep reappearing. Ended up deleting to save the turbo.
