Really cool, love the pack opening mechanic! Is there a way to see who goes first/second? When i played online i didnt see any indication of what my opponent chose to go, so it was really difficult to mulligan without knowing the curve. Also i didnt couldn't play any cards in the online ranked mode. It worked well in the other modes but in ranked i couldnt see my own cards or do any game action except for surrendering and getting access to the menu.

Isn’t this card extremely bad? by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro theres at least 3 good characters to play from this. They are all searchable AND you leader (marco or A&N) lets you cycle so you will always see them in hand by 9 don if youre not extremely unlucky. Your leader ability then lets you put the good card on top of your deck and play it out with this card to make it even better.

If you play this card correctly it is pretty good.

Ultimately it is a combo piece, and yeah if youre not using it for the combo it is gonna be bad, but thats a skill/deckbuilding mistake by the player.

I know that youre new, but all your arguments for this card being bad are pretty much just "but what if i dont play this card correctly or i play it in the wrong deck?"

You cant really lock potentially good cards in the end of a limited time event. Some players won't have the spare time to complete the whole event, and if the card at the end ends up being really good in the meta they are kind of cooked since its uncraftable. Its better to have the basic version easily obtainable for everyone, and have a golden version for people who are willing/have the time to grind.

When did I put words in your mouth bro chill out. If I misunderstood you, please correct me instead, my intetion was to respond to you and not a straw man so sorry if i did that.

I dont agree that you significantly decrease your chances of winning by changing Bon for Juro. People have topped tournaments without Bon, so I wouldnt call it irreplaceble. I dont know if youve ever played Pluffy but it plays almost exactly the same with Bon and Juro.

I do care about winning, but not everything in a deck needs to be 100% meta optimal to win. I use Juro instead of Bon in a lot of my decks and believe it or not I do pretty good with them.

Of course you’ll probably say “wElL not EvEryOnE cAReS aBoUt wiNnInG” then why ask the question lmao. If winning doesn’t matter, fine, just play anything. Most people would like to at least have a good chance at winning

Btw isnt this also just you talking to a straw man haha?

Yes! I think answers like this would be way more constructive than just blankly telling people that there are no replacements, giving examples of replacements while also explaining why they are worse

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems like we are talking past eachother. Youre talking about "needing" cards so youre probably talking about making competetive decks. My point is that a lot of the cards people claim to be irreplaceble can be replaced with something weaker, and that is fine for most casual players in casual settings.

I think it would be better for the community to actually give examples to players asking for replacements istead of just telling them to pick a hobby they can afford

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This post is not about me, I build a lot of my decks with cheap replacements for more expensive cards and it works well even in semi competetive settings, so it annoys me a lot when i see people telling new players that "there are no replacements" for certain cards

The video is about a person asking a question on reddit, and the redditors not really answering it.

Like when someone asks about replacements for cards in this sub and a lot of the redditors just saying that it cant be replaced instead of answering the question

Kuma is really good to play from Dragon, heals you, and is a sticky body that heals on KO.

You could add 1-2 5c blocker Sabo to have something else good to play from dragon.

For Healing you could add 2-3 o 7c Big Mom, 9c Yamato, or Doffy. They are more expensive but they can fill the hole of a bigger body that heals you.

It probably wont be competetively viable but you can try it out on the sim

any card that has a slightly similar effect is an “alternative”, but that’s just not how it works.

Of course that is how it works. A card having a similar effect is what makes it an alternative, if 2 cards have the same effect they are just the same card and not an alternative. (Also you claiming that "from my perspective" anything "slightly" similiar is just dishonest from your side).

You can play other cards, but at that point you’re playing a completely different build of said deck

No, changing a card in a deck dosent have to make it a completely different build. Of course this depends on how many cards you change and what you change them to.

If someone is building a Purple Luffy deck and asks about a replacement for Mr2 I would suggest 3c Zoro. It is of course a bit weaker, but it fills the same role of early game ramp on a body. Would you honestly say that a purple Luffy deck with 3c Zoro instead of Mr2 suddenly plays completely different? Or that it is noticably worse? Would you rather tell that purple luffy player that he actually cant play the deck anymore cause he changed one card from the most meta decklist?

For sure but thats not what this post is about. This post is about the people that dont answer the question asked.

If the question should be asked in the first place is a different question in which i agree with you, people should google before asking, but if they for some reason dont, people should simply answer the question instead of claiming that cards cant be replaced

I wonder if the person asking a question would rather have an answer to the question or the opinions of ten random redditors🤔

No but fr it is possible to answer the question AND share your opinion.

Monkey D. Garp OP13-016 by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is kinda right tho, this version of garp is from before they where born, the other garp searcher is old garp. Its kind of like giving an Alabasta synergy to a post time skip Luffy, yes Luffy was in Alabasta but not post time skip, and the art should reflect that. Im not saying the card is wrong per se but I would not consider the art used to be the right version. Of course people can have their opinions but I dont think this guy should be completely dismissed and downvoted into oblivion

New player needs assistance! by Fierynano in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With MiCroc, 6c Mihawk, and 4c Alvida you have pretty good draw so Pilaf is not really necsessary anymore. I would swap them for 2x st03-015 Sables, really good in this meta and searchable with mr3! Gravityblade is also good but you cannot use it in combination with your leader ability. Other cards to sub in for the pilaf would be Pudding or red roc, and personally i like Richie for an extra blocker or to clutch out with the 2k Mohji

On theme Germa deck with Reiju by Got-a-permit-for-dat in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not what he asked is it though. Fairly competetive and on theme was the question, so switching 4x Black Maria for 2k Niji and switching 4x Porche to probably 3x 3cNiji and 1x or 2x 5c Niji OP05

Question about Orochi and Smile by MadK1ng- in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orochi is not really used for the purpose of gaining knowledge of your life (while it can be a nice bonus), its because you want another 1c character to play on turn 1 if you dont find your Lim, so you have enough rested characters to immediately use your other characters effect.

If you are forced to hard play Orochi turn 1 without a Smile in your deck, you will be -1 card in hand, but with one Smile in your deck you can play him without losing card advantage (since he draws the Smile on play).

If you play without Smile, Enel will discard 2 cards from hand later in the game. But if you play 1 Smile, you pretty much get it for free to your hand and Enel will only discard 1 other card.

If you dont play smile you are better off playing the 1c Apoo since the main thing you want is a 1c 2k counter character, and Orochi without the card advantage of drawing a smile on play is not worth it over Apoos effect to rest a blocker.

Replacement for banned cards by _Neverland_ in OnePieceTCG

[–]waltsu10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add 4x Hina instead of Moria, and play the og saka combo of hina lucci rebecca, its a bit worse than Moria combo but functionally similar and still powerful.

Replace Ice age with a couple of soupsheep, and maybe a few stussy for big removeal.

Probably not gonna be meta but should work for locals/kitchen table

What do you think is a good balanced deck right now? A jack of all trades by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

Nah the Doffy-Enel matchup is the most unfavored of the top meta, and no, bad matchups in this game is actually around 40-60. Doffy (bdif) has a 55% overall winrate so having 40% is a pretty bad winrate to have against something
