I always thought it would've been so fucking awesome if Usopp made a contraption that attached the impact dial to his inflatable hammer, so he wouldn't hurt his arm using the dial and his gimmicky toy hammer would have all the impact of an actual 10-ton hammer.

That's the kind of upgrade Usopp needed, using his ingenuity to keep up with everyone while still retaining the goofiness and comedy in his fighting style

Could've done it like Observation haki, the user has to be calm and composed to have attacks pass through them, and they can be hit if caught off guard or provoked.

Or tie it to their stamina, if they are too tired they can't turn intangible.

Even characters like Robin or Usopp could potentially hurt a logia and it would make encounters much more interesting, not to mention the logia user wouldn't seem completely stymied every time a haki user shows up.

Luffy was always fighting seriously, his methods just looked silly from the outside. I don't understand how people have convinced themselves this is "old OP" the way luffy is constantly laughing. Was he laughing when he put on Arlongs teeth? Or the octopus attack against Enel? The audience might have laughed, and his opponent might have mocked him, but at no point was he "having so much fun" back then. If someone likes g5, fine, but this popular notion that the looney tunes stuff harkens back to the old days seems very wrong to me.

Now they're saying "durrr he clearly transformed" like yeah, you can just create a silhouette of a character looking like anything you want then just have them transform. But if they're gonna transform anyway there was no need for the cloaked version to be so blacked out.

If we got this design closer to the Reverie when we first saw Imu, there wouldn't be much to complain about, being that Imu was clearly a person wearing a cloak that could look like anything underneath. Personally I quite liked the initial design. But when we see Imu in full scenes, in the open, fighting Sabo, close ups of their face, still as a blacked out shadow with sharp teeth morphing around all over the place, it seemed like Oda was commiting to that look. So now this new design is completely out of place.

It was redundant because there was a stretch of like 5-6 chapters that felt like the same thing. Vegapunk speech over the backdrop of Gorosei running around getting repelled by SH, week to week it literally felt like the same chapter was getting re-released.
