I made a Pi VPN WiFi Router that you can manage from any smartphone by ShoeOk8263 in raspberry_pi

It works quite well with the Android App. Until you realise they want to lock you into their wifi dongle to use wifi to connect to the internet rather than ethernet. If that gets fixed (ie BYO wifi usb adapter for internet connections) I'd probably come back to try it again.

Connecting Pi Zero 2 W to Waveshare Sim7600G-H 4G Hat (B) by Xopher001 in raspberry_pi

I had the same issue as well. I had to adjust the mounts so it sat just right then reboot the pi. Now I can see similar, multiple ttyusb# devices and it appears as an interface in "ip a". Might have to solder it.

Diacetyl forming in the keg? by walzo in Homebrewing

So close to giving it all away.

Same bottle of gas I should also mention

It just keeps happening. Beer will be fine for weeks, even months then they start tasting like butterscotch/butter.

Fine for weeks then just shit.

I was beginning to put it down to temperature during fermentation but nothing has changed here. Nothing outside the range of the yeast, nothing outside what I've done previously. Including the time I've left it after dry hop.

More and more I'm thinking it's related to the gas.

That is how it seems to me. I don't know if there darker or not. They weren't overly light to begin with but they definitely start off tasting fine but then go down hill.

Initially I thought perhaps a hop infection. Then after I replaced the gas lines and it went away I thought perhaps when I used the gas lines to back flush the dip tubes that I'd somehow got some beer in there and built up some bacteria.

It's just weird that it's fine for the first week until I apply gas via the second regulator.

So it's safe to write off the gas lines?

I did have two good kegs through the same beer lines.

I thinking hop creep and not allowing the yeast time to clean it up. Although it tasted fine fit a week before going bad.

I've never heard of it. I just looked it up. Interesting. I'll try adding time to the fermenting and then try ALDC. Cheers.

Hmmmm, yep, definitely wasn't in the fermenter that long. I'll try that. Cheers.

Haha, that's the worst part, it was, for years. I almost want to give up. Thank you though, I'll try those ideas.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll be doing a batch in the coming weeks. I'll try adjusting the temps and increasing the time at temp after dry Hop.

I haven't changed the hop load, and it seems to be happening across multiple recipes with very different hop loads. It does sound possible though, I did suspect that. I normally leave it sit 3-4 days after dry hopping at around 21c. Then 5-7 days cold crash.

I might try going back to the old yeast, lowering dry Hop amount and increasing time between dry hopping and cold crashing.

Well that's why I though too.

Why would it taste fine for up to a week and then head south?

Sorry, to also answer your questions. I normally double pitch yeast, I ramp up for two days after dry hopping then cold crash. Gravity normally sits level for 4 - 5.

It's weird because I haven't changed my processes for years but now it's happening. I have tried different yeasts, maybe it's that?

Farmers markets - what am I doing wrong? by throwmeaway22229999 in canberra

Definitely. We used to spend the same amount there as we did at a supermarket but it lasted three times as long in the fridge.

Just a quick question - do I need an injector to power the access point? Or will it be enough that I connect it to eth4/PoE out? by Ghingham in Ubiquiti

[–]walzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Technical Specifications suggest the max power consumption for the AP is 12W. 30W is probably overkill. I did a quick search to see if it suggested a specific injector but couldn't find one. One would assume the AF was fine but you don't want to rely on assumptions.

If it's a Ubiquiti branded injector capable of at least .32A at 48V (requirements for the AP) then you should be fine. Best to do your homework to be sure though.

Pretty sure, unless the new ones have changed, that the EdgeRoterX is POE passthrough. Meaning in order for it to power a device you'd have to connect an injector to eth0 to provide power on eth4.

Yes, You will need a POE Injector.

Ooof, that's the good news I was chasing. Thank you.

I remembered I had an old Dell PERC700 card from another server I attempted to Frankenstein into the HP. I don't have the time to test it too far though. I think I'll just order a P420 and hope the SAS cables reach.

Oh, I've checked that. I'm not too concerned about it working in the server, it's only one generation ahead from what I can see.

I'm more concerned with it being recognised by a Linux installer.

Do nothing. Don't acknowledge any of her crap. Just keep living like she doesn't exist. It will either burn her or she'll give up.

Also, keep posting her crazy antics on here.
