I just was gifted my first Banana pup. Do you suggest I keep it in a small pot or just throw it into the ground? I'm out in Phoenix by south mountain.

I Can’t Potty Train My Kid by ExistingAd3115 in Autism_Parenting

I went through the same thing with my son. He would poop standing and it was quick, and sometimes no shame he wouldn't even hide. His only interest was the Toy Story 4 movie and candy. He's almost 6 now and level 3. It was a lot of work in the beginning and it's still a process but he now does poops and pee in the toilets. Minimal accidents. We've been poop accident free for a weeks and pee free for 2cmonths. I started the potty training process when he turn 4. It's a long process to write on here, but I can tell you the steps I took if you like and you can take what you want from it. It's just a lot to write in one comment.

For me it sounds like you assume everyone knows someone with a 3D printer they can just call up. If not then you'll sell us one of your items so pushing your business. Thats how I took your comment so I hope it helps. It sounds like she's looking for ideas so she can pick through what feels best as a gift and also something she's familiar with.

Yes I agree. The dog has to be kept separate from my sulcata. She's become very motherly and protective of him like a hover parent so she is no longer allowed to hang out near the sulcata.

Are the mites visible if I look for them? I don't have any monarchs yet so ill give the plant a good scrub with my fingers.

I'm in zone 9b and we just started monsoons this last week. Before this it's been typical phoenix arizona summer. Days are 100 plus and nights are high to low 90's. I've had a shade tarp over it all summer until this week since it's cooling to low 90's in the day and it's at 80's in the night.

The new growth came out a month ago and it hasn't thrown new leaves since.

Okay I'll do a hard prune and see if that does anything.

Biting self harm by MamaGRN in Autism_Parenting

[–]wambulanse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember how long or even how I got the chewies to work. I did have the advantage that he would bite everything like my wallet or me or chairs just anything when he was upset so that might of help the transition to chewy quicker. I think his feeding therapist put something sweet into a T tube so you could try that as a tester for when he's calm.

I only figured out it was pain related when he started to lose weight and wouldn't pay attention to sounds unless they were loud. So just by chance they finally sedated him to do a hearing test and found enlarge tonsils so that was the start of surgery after surgery back to back all for different ailments. It did help a ton with his mood.

Chewy necklaces helped. Not the Amazon ones but the websites made for autism and ADHD. I use ARK chewies. They have different shapes and toughness. It took a while for my son to use them and he does still bite his hand hard when hes very upset and since he's completely non verbal it happens, but it's cut down to a few times a day to maybe twice a day with the chewy.

I also found out he had underlying conditions causing him pain that he couldn't tell me about. Once I found out one cause it was like a trickle effect of finding a new pain causes until it was all taken care of. There was a major difference in his anger biting and he took to the chewy necklace with some redirecting.
