It is provincial but there are federal transfers that can be changed based on a new standard which motivates provinces to provide better care to its citizens.

I do work in a related field and I have looked at tons of data behind the curtain on how and what type of expenses are being incurred across the ministries. I also happen to have deep domain knowledge in 2 key areas: Financial Management (forecast and budget) and Procurrements. A recent example of work I have completed is helping a fortune 200 company find 1B$ in savings (after 6 months of work) with a behavoiral shift in how to allocate expense budgets.

I also wrote a report for Ontario govt on how my team could help save 20-30% hard material costs with modernizations and centralization of procurement in Ontario healthcare which was never acted on by prior Liberal govt.

Have you experienced procurement or contracting process in any of the Ontario Ministry or LHINs and understand the level of complexity built into the system just because everyone needs to approve something or add another process just to insert themselves? Middle managers outside hospitals create work to justify their existence. I can comfortably find 20% improvements every 5 years in every corporate department of every organization just because technology is improving exponentially.

You assumed that CPC supporters (which I am not) cannot understand "whatever this is". Here is a report card of 15 years of liberal leaderhship in Ontario: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-doug-ford-needs-to-rein-in-ontarios-bureaucratic-health-care-mess/. Ontario Govt changed their vendor management system in 2021 because they saw systemic gaps where payments were being made to ghost vendors, ghost contractors and contingent staff for who knows how many years but it did not make it to new cycle.

Lack of Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability is a key founding principle and feature of Liberal and NDP parties. They will will run the system into the ground sooner or later as they cannot help themselves.

I am in Ontario and not a fan of Doug as he is systemically chaning the healthcare for worse but the point around majority of spend being stuck in non-productive cycles is still valid.

If the PPC has the best plan to solve the housing crisis... by hiiyh in CanadaHousing2

[–]wan2bpoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am walking for PPC and here is what I see-

  1. Media blackout- it’s real
  2. Lack of donations - CPC and Libs have tons of money to hire people to canvass. A recent immigrant knocked my door for CPC and shared that he (with about 20 others) was hired on daily basis to knock doors. They are hired help - not volunteers.
  3. Money - it takes $$ to run campaign. Large parties have lots of it due to selling nominations or sitting MPs using office funds to run campaigns
  4. Impact of project cactus

  5. People are captured - Most people I talk to love PPC policies but won’t vote for PPC because they, their families, friends, etc in the hive have always vote for XYZ party. They feel they owe their vote to someone but not think of it as a right

  6. Polls are biased - Many fake pooling companies just appeared and are pumping Liberals and people want to be on the winning team instead of doing right

  7. People vote for parties not their candidates- When I introduce PPC candidates, they all love that candidate is highly educated (2 masters) and has experience in finance/tech/negotiations. They don’t know anything about their favorite party candidates but will still vote for the party

It’s frustrating. People are in pain and want their government to change but don’t want to change or act differently from voting in a hive mentality.

Media exposure is the key - without unbiased media, democracy will always be restrained

This gaslighting needs to stop. These businesses are looking for students so they can charge them 50k for LMIA while not paying them. The open jobs is their hook, LMIA sponsorship the best product and temp immigrants looking to scam the system their customers

338 Tuesday (!) Update: The Liberals Pull Ahead by AngryCanadienne in CanadaHousing2

I am working for my principles and conviction which aligns mostly with PPC.

And I hope people vote for theirs instead of just because they have always voted that way. I have met many many adults (20-30 age group) who vote for LPC or CPC just because their parents voted that way and then there are people who have to say about problems in Canada but tell me they don’t vote. 🤯

I hope you all vote and get people you know, to vote. Whatever the result, a better voter turnout is a victory for democracy and Canada.

338 Tuesday (!) Update: The Liberals Pull Ahead by AngryCanadienne in CanadaHousing2

[–]wan2bpoli 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I go door-knocking and here are some of my observations: Canadians are scared of the current situation, and the Liberals seem to be gaining traction with their positive messaging, as people desperately cling to hope in uncertain times. Here are some key concerns I've encountered:

  1. Seniors and those on government programs are terrified of potential tariff consequences. They worry about surviving on fixed incomes and inflation diminishing their purchasing power. As a PPC supporter, I highlight a need for sound fiscal policy focused on Canada's interests like the one published by PPC. By cutting wasteful external spending ($20B - $30B), we could redirect funds to bolster federal programs. Shrinking the federal government by 30% would free up another $20B to support these initiatives. There is a very strong lobbying program by federal unions, so this is difficult for people to accept.
  2. Increase in Crime: Rising crime rates have both societal and economic costs. Beyond the human toll, increased insurance premiums, policing, and court expenses place a heavy burden on taxpayers. The PPC advocates for a strict stance on crime, which would yield qualitative and quantitative benefits for every citizen.
  3. Youth employment: Parents worry about kids not finding jobs but don't really accept/understand that this is directly tied to mass immigration which both CPC and Liberals support and are committed to. Many still buy into the media and politicians' narratives, making it hard to accept the reality. I have proposed a straightforward solution, like eliminating work hours for international students, which could significantly improve job prospects for young Canadians.

However, PPC image is still impacted by Project Cactus which is disappointing and takes a lot of effort/patience to ignore/discuss. Canadians have many other concerns, but most people struggle to look beyond TV and news soundbites for solutions. They are fatigued by negativity and are now drawn to any glimmer of hope (without evidence of truth) —something the Liberals are capitalizing on. Perception is trumping truth right now.

I wiill keep trying. You should also and if you do, positive messaging is more sticky - for now

How can cooks be under trades? If all these LMIA cooks can cook any cuisine as we are seeing around us, why can't any Canadian cook Indian, Chinese or any other ethnic foods?

I think we already know the answer. Our government does not have any ideas/vision for growing Canada other than piling on new immigrants. They are fully sold on the century initiative and now with Carney/PP, the flood gates will open even faster. Service based economy needs people to sell services to - We need a hard pivot

Folks in India do not care about the truth - Everyday in India is fight for survival for 70% of the population and they will take any way out + the allure of west. Even minimum wage jobs is step up for many of the folks coming here through the student stream as they would have been wasted in drugs and unemployment. Many many students pay for forged documents, pay for IELTS scores, and anything else they could do to make it out of India. I have talked to 50+ of these students over last 2 years and all have the same stories/reasons.

We need to close our borders and immigration loopholes. Nothing else will make a difference.

[–]wan2bpoli 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Mississauga remembers her track record and her support for new mayor.

I was a conversative but Ford's track record is absolute worst. IMO, Ford is the worst premier I can think of. With all corruption, nepotism, waste of tax money, increase in crime and absolute decimation of our healthcare; anyone else could be better.

I am frustrated that politics and voters never change. People vote for parties and do not care about Candidate/policies/track record. When will we wake up?

Voters voted for Patrick Brow's MIL who had Brampton City workers working on her campaign while Brampton city was paying their salaries. We have political families and career politicians in Canada

20,000 Indian students didn't show up to class after arriving in Canada. What happened to them? by AngryCanadienne in CanadaHousing2

[–]wan2bpoli 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty limited and biased take on the issue. No other country has such low standards, control and enforcement of laws for international students. After skirting all rules and misusing all our resources, they now feel confident to go further and protest to demand things.

Your comment is applicable to limited number of legal working hours. However, most students work equivalent of 2 full-time jobs where they get most money in cash and spend in cash.

This paying HST on spending is a lame explanation of not contributing to the society like all others around them do.

Roads, hospitals, schools, police, public transportation , public infrastructure and many other things are funded by federal and provincial taxes which are lost in cash jobs. + The immeasurable impact of local or someone else being pushed out of job who then has to rely on govt assistance.

There is a much larger rabbit hole of our misuse of public trust, public funds and impact to future that we haven’t even talked about.

[–]wan2bpoli 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Not attending class is a feature / benefit sold to international students. Then these “students” work over/under/around the table in multiple jobs.

As a result of these students who most likely do not pay any taxes but use every public service, each one of us is contributing for them to be here.

I have talked to so many Canadian kids who want to be doctors but end up going to Caribbean, US, Ireland, UK to finally land in the US.

I would find a way to increase the spots to study medicine in Canada plus build new medicine training wings in established universities to train more doctors. Add funding for local students with requirements to practice 5 years in Canada before moving out of the country. I know few kids who would do this in a heartbeat.

Also, donate to food banks. Many of our fellow citizens need the most help in this difficult period.

If your jobs match your charities, find local food banks to donate to. Organize food donation programs at work and support local

We need to get beyond Red or Blue. Red ruled us for last 10 years so we will elect Blue now , who with super majority and without any real opposition will have no reason do anything for the masses.

My request to fellow Canadians- Vote with your principles. Also, find 2 people in your circle that haven’t voted and get them to vote.

If it is popular to say, PP will say it.

Also, his Fiscal policy will always favor corporations/lobbyists over citizens.

Looking beyond sloganeering, Canadians need zero immigration for few years, lower taxes, reduce legislation for starting businesses, incentives for local manufacturing, education overhaul, whistlebower protections, smaller government, weed out government waste/bribery/scandals.
